after 2nd run usa1 with hayes is in first and brian dropped to 4th .019 out of first, made the cut last 2 runs on sat,he drove great, the had a bad push the 2nd run but had the fastest sled on the 2nd part of the course, which is great, these are the sleds built by nascar, bodine sleds one of them will get a med. hope they both do.

brian has won world cup golds 2 and lot of other races butnot the big one in 3 trys this is his 4th and last would love to see him come in top 3,but even if he doesnot has won more then anyother usa bobsled driver.

came in 9th in 2 man did not have his push man out with pulled hamstring,

Somewhere in Corn Country
The brakeman for this 4 man sled is from a small town real close to here, Sherarrd, Ill. Dan Steele is his name. His brother Darren came close to qualifying in the decathalon in the summer games.
In addition, another member of this team, Doug Sharp, attended Palmer College of Chiropratic which is here in Davenport. They are refering to him as a "local resident" as well.
Hope they win a medal......

Congrats Eric...

Congrats Eric...

From the Chicago Sun Times "When it was all over, Shimer burst into tears. "I've been in this sport 16 years," he said. "I did it on my last run in my last Olympics. This is a fairy tale ending. Who doesn't like that?"

Congrats to Brian and th entire Shimer family!!
