I never like taking chalk in sports or races and when I saw Edgar Prado was aboard, I jumped on this horse. For those of you who dont know him, EP was THE jockey on the Laurel/Pimlico circuit up until a couple of years ago. I had a chance to meet him on a number of occassions as he saddled three wins for my Aunt. He loves to sit one to two paces off the lead and draft until the final turn to make his move. Great guy, even better jockey.

4 wins in last 4 starts, including the Bluegrass Stakes and LA Derby, posting some great Beyers in his last 3 of 104, 105 and 102. Again, I look for Prado to sit off the lead here coming down the backstretch and make his move in the final turn.

Playing Peace Rules $20 WPS for starters.

Hi Ace, think this jock. is something special. Can`t argue with what Peace Rules has done , but suspect his ability to go the Derby and Belmont distances.( 1 1/4 and 1 1/2). I would feel better betting him in the Preakness.

Just a feeling I have, nothing concrete.

Good luck Saturday.

So. Cal
this horse has slow fractions down the stretch at shorter distances, what make you believe he picks it up at Churchill in a longer race?

My bet is that he completely backs up in the stretch and finishes 7th or worse.

Plus my shlep-rock loser friend has him to win, so he has NO CHANCE.

The extra distance doesnt bother me too much. I think Prado will let a couple of the speed horses charge ahead while he waits just ahead of the rest of the pack. The mile and a quarter is an extra distance for most of these horses, so I dont see Peace Rules at a greater advantage/disadvantage than any other horse in that regard. I think Emprie Maker might still be the class of this field, but again, Im just not a chalk player so theres no value to me in betting him straight up.
