Thanks Old School........don't know how to post pics but that's the one. I don't have a clue what it's capable of yet (don't have HD from Time Warner yet) but I did watch UFC 68 on it last night. Pretty sweet.

Very nice. At the end of the month I am buying the 60 inch Vizio plasma from Costco for $2999 -$300 rebate. I have a 50 inch now but can't wait to get the 60 inch:)

No, what will that do for me? I'm pretty much a rookie at this HD thing. I almost bought a tv at Circuit City last week but the salesman pretty much talked me out of it by telling me you need this and this and that and some more of this. My head was spinning by the time I left.

I'm going to order the HD package from Time Warner but it typically takes them a couple of weeks to show up around here. I assume I need an HDMI cable (will the $50.00 ones at Walmart do the same thing that the $120.00 ones at Best Buy/Circuit City do?). They really push the Monster Surge Protecters, is that necessary? Don't have surround sound but I'm sure that's just a matter of time. I supoose I need a Blue Ray DVD player (trying to convince the wife that a PS3 is cheaper and does the same thing......am I right?). Everything that you need to go with it will cost me as much as the tv by the time I'm done........I sure hope it's worth it.

Any help or advice you guys can offer, I'm all ears......thanks.

COSTCO.......is the one and only place to buy a TV...........I know you guys know why.

Did you guys see they changed their TV policy? 30 days I think, but that's what happens when enough people abuse the system. They will still honor prior purchases and issue a refund but now it's only for a month I'm im not mistaken (could be 90 days not that I think about it).

you could even use regular rabbit ears if the tv has it's own internal tuner (I think)

IO didn't try the reg. rabbit ears as you suggested in another thread..not sure if they work or not..

I have a external hooked up to my AKAI 27'' INCH HI-DEF TV/MONITOR for my desk:00hour

and a external on the 52 inch RCA HI-DEF I picked up from Wal-Mart for 500.00 on Friday. in my office .yea I know impossible price..gotta friend in the store who introduced me to regional manager and see cut me a super deal on the 52"...$585.00 including 3 year warranty..what a buddy :00hour

Best I can tell is that DIRECTV is the way to go for family/sports viewing in hi-def..
NFL PACKAGE THROUGH DIECTV IS THE WORD...

I would certainly contact directv and compare to Time Warner..

There was a previous thread covering this and a lotta stuff about hi-def earlier in the year..will try to find it unless IO can find it first..

we need a hi-def/programing provider forum :00hour

Check out Monoprice for any audio or video cables that you need. Great quality and cheap as hell. Bought an HDMI cable and a couple of component video cords for dvd players etc. Nice site.

by far the best tv in the world, i have the 7o" sony sxrd xbr2 in main room and the 46 " bravia xbr3 in the bedroom.
your tv is hands down amazing, hope you like it , any questions you may have just ask,

now you just need the sony blu ray player, it will blow your mind, the blu rays are so much better the your normal hd channels.

have fun and enjoy

Thanks YankeeBaseball.........I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions once I get my HD hooked up. How much for the Sony Blu Ray? I'm guessing in the $800.00 range. Might have to wait 6 months or so and see if the price drops.
