The games that I got to watch most of the action are: Falcons/Pack; Colts/Jax; and Texans/Cowboys--these are the teams I will be commenting on.

Falcons--Bold statement is Michael Vick is the best player in the NFL. This is not only for his incredible ability, but also because defenders are/will be confused as to what to do with him. Can a LB stay home guarding the TE and give him the opportunity to run? or should they charge in leaving the TE open? When they do decide to rush, Vick still has two options--throw the easy completion or make a poster child out of the defender. Vick made throws that were reminiscent of Marino and he has moves that no other QB in history has.

The Falcons running attach is unbelievable with Vick, Dunn, and Duckett. If this team had back-up defensive linemen, they would be well on their way to post-season glory.

Packers--This team is solid as always, but Greene will continually hurt them with fumbles. Favre has the ability to will wins out of his team, so they are still have that advantage over opponents.

Colts--Peyton Manning will probably have an MVP season this year if James stays healthy. This team is going to do wonders with the new play callers on both sides of the ball. The Colts are a fun team to watch because of Peyton's ability to call plays at the line of scrimmage and control the field and his team better than any QB currently in the game.

Jacksonville--Didn't get much from this team. Not really paying attention to the score, I was shocked to see how close this game really was. Expect them to get beat badly several times this year.

Texans--I liked what I saw out of Carr. He did get away with several bad throws last night, but he also made several correct decisions. He has very good awareness on the field and should be a very valuable player for a time to come. this franchise ahs done a very good job assembling this team, but they are a few years away from making noise. They were lucky they were playing the Cowboys.

Cowboys--I ahve to disagree with Nick Douglas here and say that the Cowboys are as bad as they looked yesterday. Quincy Carter (remember I'm a UGA grad) has no business holding a clipboard in the NFl much less starting at QB. I was amazed at the amount of open receivers he missed last night. Frustration had to be high in their locker room after the game. This team will be a downward spiral all year. Expect to see players giving up by Week 8.

I will now comment on the Bengals even though I did not get to watch most of the game. I predicted in the preseason that Akili Smith will get multiple starts by year's end (I may have said at least one). I am now changing that to he will be the starter by Week 8. With the players that they have at every position on offense, there is no way that this team should not get into the endzone. Kitna will be playing heavily by Week 3, and the team will be promoting Akili back to the healm shortly thereafter. Once Akili is calling the shots again, the Bengals will win at least 50% of their remaining games.

I would like to hear any contrary or like opinions on any of the above statements. I stayed away from playing any games this week, but I feel like I learned quite a bit from just watching. I hope most of you had a profitable weekend and good luck with this week's games.
