FWIW......

New England (-5.5) at Indy

My first reaction was to think New England, only because it seemed to obvious to take the at-home, undefeated, defending super bowl champs getting any points at all.

Then I had second thoughts. I though Indy +3 would be a fair line, and I started looking for a logical reason for why the spread would be 2.5 higher than what I thought was fair. I asked friends at work the following question "If you paid attention only to what you hear about NE and Indy, what percentage of that would be NE talk and what percentage would be Indy talk?" Most agreed that it seems NE gets at least 75-80% of the publicity (at least it seems that way here). So then I figured maybe the extra 2.5 points could be attributed to bettors getting NE talk constantly fed to them lately. IF that is the case, then I feel there is some value at Indy +5.5

Pick: Colts +5.5

Green Bay at Kansas City (-2.5)

Ok, so Green Bay goes on the road and beats Denver straight up getting 3 points. Now they play KC - a team comparable to Denver - and they are still getting points?? Seems to be an easy pick. "Not so fast, my friends", he says in his best Lee Corso voice. Green Bay working on a short week, still travelling and KC coming off a bye week. I have to go against the Pack.

Pick: KC -2.5

Anyway, thats 2 cents worth. With my luck, I wouldnt price it any higher. :com:

I'm exactly the opposite of your plays, but it's GREAT TO SEE YOU POSTING AGAIN:00hour

I feel the same way on my plays FWIW, at least one of us should do all right.

Thanks Ctown.

I'm going to add one more play cuz I hate going 1-1. lol

Baltimore at Pittsburgh (-9)

Ravens made mince-meat of this team last year on their way to a 13-3 record. Bye-week schmye week. Ravens offense will always suck as long as that genius Billick is doing the play calling. Rusty McNair or regular ole' Boller, I see the Ravens falling behind early and having to play ketchup....then I see the Steelers feeding like dogs that havent eaten in a few weeks.

Pick: Pittsburgh -9

p.s. Sorry Jack. I have no confidence in this team right now.

p.p.s I guess the thread should now be "my opinion on 3 games" :s2:
