My Perception of the Vikings

I'm not a Vikings fan, nor did I have money on them. I had the under. But why do you start a QB who doesn't know your offense yet and limits your play calling? This is very poor coaching and leadership. I'm not saying Ponder is an elite QB, but HE KNOWS THE OFFENSE. He gives you the best chance to win right now. Freeman was not a winner in TB, and will not be a winner in Minny. He constantly makes bad decisions and couldn't hit the Grand Canyon if he dropped the football off the side of the cliff. Just look the faces of the WR's getting destroyed by high throws over and over again. Frazier, IMO, is not a good HC and shouldn't be a HC at all. If the Vikings ever want to be a legit team, Frazier and Freeman need to go.

Gruden is basically calling Frazier and Co. a bunch of morons... Freeman has been here 12 days and have thrown 46 times and ran 14 times

In all seriousness, They didn't give him 2 million for 10 games to hold a clipboard. This came from the top. Frazier had no choice.

This is a Viking team that had high expectations coming into the year. 10 - 6 last year with 3 number one picks and pick up Bishop at LB. Coaching and Management banked on Ponder to take the next step. Once I watched the third preseason game, a shocking light hit me and I was like this team is going to suck. I know Pre Season is just preseason but I watched their first string offense struggle against Niners second string. They were putting pressure on O line.

1. QB has been horrid. I still think Freeman is the most talented QB and needs time.
2. Offensive Line is a joke, they were never a good pass blocking line but man they can't make a hole
3. Coaching is in total chaos. They have no clue whatsoever. None.
4. Linebacking core is as bad as it gets. Wow is it bad. They can't blitz and they can't help secondary out either.
5. Secondary is really really young and SS Smith is out. Robinson gets picked on all night.
6. Allen and Williams are past their prime and are in the top 3 in payroll on team . Between these two and TE John Carlson, they are paying 28 million per season. Good Grief

They need to improve that offensive line first and foremost, assuming they go with new coaching staff. You have AP you get him what he needs. They need road graters not the crap they have. I hope they are not in denial about what they have. They have a few really good young players who should be playing in Pro Bowl regularilu

Well good luck on counting on Josh Freeman to take you to the promised land. I'm sure the NFL was not happy about the forfeit on national TV last night and you should have heard Steve Young and Trent Dilfer trash the management of Vikings for putting Freeman out there.

I did listen to that, I don't think Freeman is going to take them to the promise land by any means but he has more talent than the other stiffs at QB. It doesn;t look good for him, but I will give him a few more games anyway. What else are they going to do?

Freeman is the best QB on their roster. He should not have been playing yesterday since he'd been with the team for less than a week but to suggest he should be cut is absurd if they want to try and win games (granted, starting him last night brings that goal into question). They'll get beat down on Sunday night, but I do suspect that Minnesota will be a stronger team the last 6-7 weeks of the season as he learns the playbook more.
