i was surprised to see OHIO ST giving TEXAS TECH 17 points on someone elses post from oasis.....but i was very surprised to see it drop a whole 7 pts when millenium posted theres !!!! i would tend to agree that 10 pts is still to much....but still have to take a deeper look into that game.....the first game of the season is always tough especially when Texas Tech uses an offense like this.....

UGA at home -5 is an early season 5 star (*****) pick. I believe the line will close at -8 or higher. UGA will win by double digits. More analysis and a detailed breakdown later.

Georgia's corners can't stay with Clemson's receivers. Clemson's defense will be much improved. The dog is worth a look at +5, but the over is probably the play.

I think you Columbia boys are letting your biases show through.
Clemson's played USC tougher than Georgia has in the Bowden/Holtz era, and has played Tech just as tough as UGA has. In addition to the comparable onfield performance, the Clemson-USC, USC-UGA, UGA-Tech, and Tech-Clemson lines show that the oddsmakers power ratings have had Clemson and UGA pretty much equal over the last three years. Look it up.

Why is UGA's program now suddenly way ahead of Clemson's? Just because Greene returns and Dantzler's gone?

I don't buy it. Clemson's defense will be much improved with the loss of considerable internal conflict and disunity. Simmons is a question mark at QB, but the one thing we know he can do is the one thing we know Georgia can't stop.

Caveat: I am a Clemson fan, but I went to law school at UGA and know this rivalry inside and out.

Huskers Favored?

Huskers Favored?

Despite being from Nebraska and a Husker fan I cannot believe that Texas is the dog in this one. Forget the mystique of playing in Memorial Stadium, Nebraska simply cannot match-up this year. Jammal Lord starts for the Huskers at quarterback, and though he is a good athlete, he has not proven to have the playmaking abilities that Nebraska has seen from the QB position in the past. Add to that an always shaky pass defense and a Texas offense that should be among the top in the nation and this has Longhorns written all over it. Just my take.
