Patriots Huge.
I think this is a perfect spot for an absolute blowout. Patriots come home with their heads handed to them by Miami. Everyone is down on them, and doubting that they are for real. They will have an excellent week of practice after the two losses. Getting back at home will wake them up and they are playing the perfect team to get them back a little of their superbowl swagger.
Green Bay off of the short week should be napping at the start of the game. I expect them to be flat as a pancake on Sunday. I'm waiting to pull the trigger on this one as I think the line will drop.

it sounds very logical to me smash. Everything yu said makes sense and should happen. Dont seem like NE could drop three in a row , at home especially.

Good luck

I eluded to this on another thread. This is a great setup for the Pats, and a very bad one for the Pack. I really think the Pack peeked at their schedule this week and knew that had to beat the Bears because winning this week would be a tall order.

Favre can't play defense and I think the Pats will score at will. I like the over as well but not as much as the Patriots. Here's to lowering the boom on the Patriots...:toast:

I had this game circled after watching Monday night football. I think it's the same scenario as the Broncos Chargers game last week. One team comes in walking on the moon while the superior team @ home is pissed off at the world. I like it alot. Good Luck to you.

spent 4 hours today looking at games. looked hard at this one and kept coming up with new england -3. will lay off the side, even though i have an edge to the pack. do like the over though. you and i differed last week on a couple, but believe we both came out ok.

good luck to you this week.

SMASHMOUTH...GOOD LUCK ON THIS PLAY...MY QUESTION TO YOU HOWEVER...WHAT MAKES YOU THINK NE CAN STOP AN OFFENSE WITH BOTH A RUNNING GAME AND A PASSING GAME..WHEN IT COULD NOT STOP KC WHEN THEY NEW THEY WERE RUNNING AND CHARGERS WHEN THEY DAMN SURE KNEW THEY WERE RUNNING????....

THIS GAME IS NOT COMPARABLE TO THE CHARGERS GOING INTO DENVER....DENVER CAN STOP THE RUN ...AND MADE THE CHARGERS A ONE DIMENSIONAL TEAM WITH AN UNPROVEN QB...NE HAS NOT STOPPED THE RUN IN THREE GAMES (ALTHOUGH BETTER JOB IN MIAMI)...

I DONT THINK GB WILL BE ABLE TO STOP NE THIS WEEK EITHER...AND I AM LEANING TOWARDS TAKING THE PATS AND OVER...BUT WAS JUST WONDERING WHAT YOU THOUGHT ... GOOD LUCK...COOZ

Cooz, Good points as always. I think after the Pats played the thriller against Kc, the schedule got mean. Cross country to the upset minded, underrated Chargers, and then go accross the map again to play the tough as nails Dolphins on the road.
Now they have the Packers in their house. Packers on a short week. Another key for me is Pats have a bye next week. Win and Belechek will reward them lose, and they will work their asses off.
I look for Belechek to have that defense primed to stop farve, who will probably help them with at least two picks.

On a 1-6 scale that I use this game comes up a six. The last 6 that I had was last years Saints versus 49ers game. I loved the niners because I felt the saints had quit. I may be wrong but I am on this one huge.

Down to 4.5

Pats -4.5 7 units

Pats went up against the top 3 backs in the AFC. They got their butts handed to them by Holmes and Tomlinson but held Ricky Williams to under 3 yards a carry and before that, totally shut down Bettis and Martin. I don't think Green is near the class of Holmes or Tomlinson. Plus I think Glenn is going to be more of a wuss than normal. I know he had a great game last Monday but he's coming into a VERY hostile stadium (for him) and he knows the Pats secondary are going to be gunning for him big time. I don't think he'll be much of a factor to be honest.

I think GB will score points, but the Pats will march up and down the field all day, esp. against a beaten up and depleted defense.

smashmouth...you may very well be on the right side ...and thanks for your insight....

and a good point was made that the pats basically kept R williams in check....the bad thing however is fielder burnt them...and you can say williams is not the caliber of backs such as tomlison and holmes....but fielder isnt even within a galaxy length of favre....a good pass game opens up a running game...a good running game opens up a pass game...greenbay will get thier share of yards on the ground this week...and they will get thier share of points...

but i think the travel NE was forced to do in the last couple of weeks against some "decent" opposition (im not convinced Miami is legitimate) certainly took its toll in those games...and watching the miami game they shot themselves in the foot a couple of times which allowed miami to score ......

this week green bay is working with a short week and is banged up on defense.....and even when thier d was healthy it was still shaky (see weeks #1 and #2)...

lets see what happens with the line in this game...i saw it was at 5.5 earlier today....

discussions and perspectives can only help us make a better decision....cooz
