My thoughts on VT vs FSU

As by my name I am a Hokie Fan
And this may be a phisco post (phisco meaning saying one thing but truely HOPING for the oppisite to happen ie. Your crushing the golf ball today Man you will post low score today for sure If you keep it up drinks will be on me... but you are hoping the MFer slices everything into Ranger Rick land)
VT has never beaten FSU. Thats right NEVER 0-11.
I have watched bad VT get crushed by FSU and good VT teams get crushed by FSU
That said this Hokie Team is better than FSU both defensively and if Vick is playing OK offensively.
Tech should win this game easily if the guys with the spears on their helmets had sabres on them instead.
Further, I think it is a BIG trap game here for bettors. We watched the Noles get hammered like a ten dollar Laotian hooker last week.
BUT they were playing for what amounts to nothing. They already were in this game today and played as vanillia an offensive as possible not to tip their hands today.
History today will continue as I see FSU winning outright or at best covering easily..
I am certainly phiscoing here as I will be rooting as hard as I can against my money.
But money is money and it will be made on FSU today.....

The common denominator in past games is FSU has always been good...they are not this year...

I just wonder a couple things about this game. One, what tricks does Bowden have up his sleeve? Another, who's going to start at QB?
Weatherford sucks bad.
I don't know if Xavier Lee will start, but I could see him playing a lot, and while I don't like Bowden, he has been known to pull some rabbits out of the hat from time to time.
Also, its almost a home game for the Seminoles and game does have that ol' "trap" feel.

I'm playing FSU small on the ML +475

Too much value there. Last night reminds us of what conference rivals can do to each other. Last week reminded us of what conference rivals can do to each other. If Texas A&M could hang within 11 points of Texas, FSU sure can win tonight. I'm not saying they definately will, but at 5-1 its worth throwing some $$$ at.

I'm more reluctant to take the 14 points here. I think FSU's defense can completely dominate a game, like Miami's did against VT. If that happens you arent gonna need ANY points. If they play well, they will win the game. If FSU plays like they did in Gainesville, VT can run away with it. Plus the +475 sets up some nice halftime hedges should FSU be up at the half.

If you watched FSU play last week, anything is possible Soccr. It all starts on offense. If FSU's offense keeps going 3 and out and turns the ball over to VT's playmaking defense, VT could get TD's in a hurry. I HOPE NOT, but it certainly could happen. I'm hoping FSU's defense is able to come out and set the tone early, and for FSU's offense not to do anything spectacular, but not to anything to blow the game either, ie turnovers, low time of possession etc.

when you have offense as horrid as FSU's going against a great defense like VT's the offense needs to play "disaster management" In other words, they arent going to win the game on offense, but they have to protect the football and not become a liability to the team.

ok your right about FSU's offense, however, last game VT against UNC, UNC was almost beating them in the first half if it wasn't for that drop.....I really feel like FSU will stop them and run the ball in this one....Yeah they've had some problems but lets not forget about what happend to VT against Miami.....this is the same Miami that lost to FSU beginning of the year.....The reason why DEFENSE!!!!! It is HIGHLY unlikely that VT will score 45 in my eyes.

D your right about FSU's offense

Yea I doubt it too thats why my $$ is on FSU. When VT has been able to score in a hurry against good defenses, like the WVU game, it only happened because of the turnovers deep in WVU's own territory. Otherwise, VT will not score in flurries against the FSU defense.
