If I remember correctly, your last one was awful....this is a big improvement. One question: Why is there a dead snowman at the forefront? Doesn't make sense and doesn't seem to sell your ability.

Also: I'd lose that "Hi, I'm Travis" line. Makes me think that this is some kid at a computer instead of a professional artist.

The JD logo is cool. Simple and slick.

agree w/gmroz on his points

also I would ax the cig pick..

don't alienate any potential customer.

There are folks who believe that it is a nasty vice.
replace w/something appealing to all

also would try to make all the work on the web uncopyable.
no sense in letting people use your work for nothing..

The "cupie doll snow man" is perfect for the icy gloss layered elements on your logo as well as the frosted trees. If it's seasonal, make certain you update going into spring.

It reminds me a lot of a group who were on the fore front of flash design back when I was running a design shop. That's a compliment...

The issue here is your trending style removes professional corporate environments and focuses more towards cutting edge which I presume you are trying to do as it's design and not functional development with back end coding..

This is your passion. My advice is don't ask for advice on a gambling forum and find your look and feel.

I eventually started working more with intranet functionality in large corporations and hospitals and moved away from design to functional development, consulting, and now into something completely different in IT/Financial Services.

My point is you have several doors ahead of you if you adapt your business to demand...

Best of luck to you.

Looks good. I agree about the pic with the cig. I guess the question is...are you doing this for business or is it for personal? If it's business I would ditch the pic of the graphics guy smoking and get something more mainstream. It doesn't mean it's right but it may turn some people off, it gives off a certain vibe.

Good luck looks much better

thanks for the critiquing, guys. much appreciated.

i'll comment on the suggestions from top to bottom:

1) A lot of people mistake the voodoo doll for a snowman. it's actually there as a "filler" for dead space until the mascot we're designing gets completed. it' sin the inking stage and should be up in a few days. it's gonna be really nice.

2) The tag line "Hi, I'm Travis" is there because I initially started this by myself as a freelance designer. Nic is essentially working under me as a talented illustrator and because I include him as a working partner, you will often times see the use of "we" thrown around. We haven't been working together long but I'm hoping we can evolve into a bigger entity. Regardless, the tag line will probably change soon as I have the same reservations about it.

3) Regarding the cig pic, it's crossed my mind on whether or not it carries a bad vibe but we'd like to think we are a different breed of artist and don't mind bucking the trend. We want our work to speak for itself here. If we were catering to large corporations and reputations were on the line, you'd see us in business casual with a forced smile.

4) Copyright infringement is a tricky thing to maintain. All of the samples I have in the portfolio page are low resolution with a gradient background. It would be a tough task for someone to try to manipulate use of our work simply because of all of the delicate cropping it would entail. Good luck to those who are up to the challenge.

5) Unfortunately, I'm not well-versed with building websites so it lacks a lot of substance that other designer firms are able incorporate. Woodson, I'd like to pick your brain on a few things. If you don't mind, could you shoot me an email?

6) I use Photoshop and Dreamweaver with a hint of Flash.

Thanks again fellas!
