N engine issue, 6 speed manual

800 miles have been put on it since it was new. Today, while using cruise control, I experienced throttle latency as I downshifted into each gear to test it. I would accelerate aggressively in each gear, gaining 1-3 mph at a time. Same thing while moving slowly through each gear from a complete stop. There are no sounds, lights, fluids, or odours. I've turned it on and off a few times while driving about town since, and, thank God, the problem hasn't shown up again. What do we believe?
