Was pretty excited for a second but then I realized they did list Jamie McMurray at Pinnacle. Oh well.

Next race Martinsville. I look for Stewart to extend his lead in the points after the next race.

Stewart is raceing very smart. I do look for him to win it. But what a tight race it is. All a guy has to do is finish 33rd or back. To one of the top 5 who wins. And he can go back to third place in a blink. Nascar is loving it. And now another rookie wins. Oh boy Nascar is just gett-en stronger. TV ratings are up. They will keep growing for at least a few more years. Then it will slow some like all things do. But they will have a huge fan base by then. Maybe a gain of 25% in next three to four years. Everything else in sports is slowing or just hoalding it's own. NCAA Buckets did have some growth this year but that's about it.

Atlanta is Bobby Labonte country. I believe he's won 50% of the races he's run there. For a longshot I'm wondering if Benson can make up for last week.

myron good thinking on bobby labonte. 5 wins, 9 top 5's out of last 13 races at atlanta. two of the races where he did not record a good finish he had blown engines. only negative is the 37th place finish in the spring race this year, i can't recall if that was just a poor run or if he had trouble. then again his whole year this year has been a disappointment so we have to decide whether past records or current form will prevail this week for him.
he did run awfully strong last week so i think he has a good shot.

with only 10-1 odds on him that i've seen i think i'll wait until after qualifying/hh to see what he looks like.

From books that advertise on this site, Carib has Bobby Labonte at 15/1. And he does tend to qualify fairly well at the track so I expect his odds to go down after qualifying.
