Well it's the last game of my season and thank god because it has not been kind. Can you believe it my brothers and friends, here is your faithful narrator like a babe in arms. So we look toward the apex of the football season. Who will walk away with the crystal football and who just walks away? Well I have shouted upon highest mountain top the SEC has looked great in some games but Kentucky, Arkansas and south Carolina did me no favors. You see, this profession is filled to the brim with unrealistic motherfuckers. Motherfuckers who thought their ass would age like wine. If you mean it turns to vinegar, it does. If you mean it gets better with age, it don't. So I am left thinking about which offense and which players are up to the challenge and which struggle in the bright lights of the game. Cam Newton the heisman trophy QB that has great running potential and the ability to escape even NCAA rules violations brings a difficult task to the ducks defense. Newton completes about 67% of his passes and helps the auburn offense to the tune of 43 points per game. The ducks defense allows 331 passing yards per game. But can the oregon defensive line slow down the number 6 rushing attack in NCAA. Suburbs Oline goes an average of 304 pounds but they are not the biggest group Oregon has seen, tenn and UCLA both out weigh that group and Oregon did well enough against them but can they stop 287 yards per game and 6.2 per clip. But it's not gonna be pleasant. I value my neck a lot more than three thousand bucks, chief. I'll find him for three, but I'll catch him, and kill him, for ten. That's a great question and honestly something I think the the ducks will struggle against all night. The ducks score quick on occasion and that type of rushing attack can easily wear down the ducks defense. The best plan is for Oregon to try to offensively out run auburn. They have a runner that averages 157 per game. They have a fast tempo offense which can limit Farley and his energy to rush and they can score about 49 points per game. This is where the ducks passing attack has to come to play. Auburn ranks number 106 in the NCAA against the pass. The ducks have to use the spread set and take advantage. These teams are very even on offense. It's the bottom of the 9th, the score is tied. It's time for the big one. You up for this one, Maverick? Just a walk in the park, Kazansky. So what team will take that shot. Suburbs coach C is like 6-0 in bowls but Kelly has done well enough. Both teams are coached well. Looking at some of suburbs games I think they have played the tougher line up but they did have a close dance with Kentucky and Clemson, I am not too impressed there. I am also interested to see if auburn plays under control. Will they do stupid things or lose their cool. Don't buy wigs that come off at the wrong time, Morries wigs don't come off even under water. That's another reason the ducks impress me, they don't lose their cool even when they are down. They make great second half adjustments and they just continue to play their game. And when the wind blows hard and the sky is black - Ducks fly together! I look at this game and it could go a few ways. The ducks can offensively blow by auburn. Auburn can stop Oregon on offense and do whatever they want offensively or it is the team with the ball last that is going to win. I got to get into this dude's pelt and crawl around for a few days. Who's the gopher's ally. His friends. The harmless squirrel and the friendly rabbit. Use the speed of the game to dictate what auburn can do. If the ducks can pass then keep scoring and take away that great running game and make Newton beat you throwing the ball from behind. Wear the defense out so in the later parts of the game the pass rush won't be there and you can make some things happen. Cause I mean the ducks have to be tired about hearing newton this and auburn that Great moments... are born from great opportunity. And that's what you have here, tonight, boys. That's what you've earned here tonight. One game. If we played 'em ten times, they might win nine. But not this game. Not tonight. Tonight, we skate with them. Tonight, we stay with them. And we shut them down because we can! Tonight, WE are the greatest hockey team in the world. You were born to be hockey players. Every one of you. And you were meant to be here tonight. This is your time. Their time is done. It's over. I'm sick and tired of hearing about what a great hockey team the Soviets have. Screw 'em. This is your time. Now go out there and take it. It's all or nothing, everything is on the table. Can speed outlast power, can the ducks take advantage of suburbs defense giving up 28 points per game and double it. Can auburn put more than the duck 18 points per game in their bend don't break defense. If you stand toe-to-toe with this bum, he'll kill you. It doesn't take a man to stand there and get your head beat off...! He's just a man, Rock, so be MORE man than him! Go get him; Eye Of the Tiger! This could be a great game. We all have to be impressed with wranglers win and bama win and these two beat them. I like the special teams advantage that Oregon has, they have a lot of speed and the ability to break a big one. Auburn did not have to punt too many times this year and they allowed a 5.5 return average. Oregon can make up some yards here. A big question for me is can Thomas perform and run the offense as well as he needs to inorder to win. Both teams are by far better at home so no real advantage there. The time issue is not a factor. The crowd will be for both sides so I think it is very hard to cap this game. BUT I also think the SEC has gotten a ton of love and with that love comes money and The point is ladies and gentlemen that greed, for lack of a better word, is good. So I will sit back tonight and watch what should be a good game but all the love for Newton and the SEC reminds me of all the love for the ducks offense last year in the rose bowl which was shut down by Ohio state. I have to think the ducks handle their offensive business. They continue to go and go and go at auburn. This is the kid, calls me 59 days in a row, wants to be a player. There ought to be a picture of you in the dictionary under persistence kid. Then towards the end when the tanks are getting dry and the tigers are leaning on newton the persistant speed of Oregon us still moving along. Kelly has not only the speed but also the depth. Look for Barner to spell James and speed all night. I like suburbs running attack but I like the ducks to contain the edge and force inside to where the other players are waiting. I'm looking forward to this even though this season has been up and down. First you want to kill me now you want to kiss me.... Blow. Good luck to you all and for those that are with me good luck and for those that are not. If we're not gonna make it, it's gotta be you that gets out, cause I'm not capable. I'm fucking Irish, I'll deal with something being wrong for the rest of my life.
