Bearcats -8
NT has one of the top defenses in the country.Ranked 3rd,8th 14th and 21th in total defense, scoring defense, pass defense, etc. The reason they won the Sun Belt was defense. They played a tough non-league schedule vs Texas,Alabama,Arizona,TCU,and So Fl.They sacked Simms 5 times and held Texas scoreless in the 2nd half.TCU was held to 16 pts,Arizona 14.
They are led by the best defensive tackle in the country in Brandon Kennedy. He is 5'9 and weighs in at 315.Lighting speed he led the nation in tackles for losses at 24.His has some real support around him with an outstanding DE in Awasom,LB Casey and 2 great DB's."you can only do 2 things to Brandon, double team him or hold him".
This Mean Green defense stops the run and gang tackles.
The mean green offense isn't so mean. They are the worst. In fact the 3rd worst in the nation in total offense. When there star Qb Hall went down in the 1st game redshirt Smith took over.He lost 5 of his 1st 6 games. Then the conf. games came and he never lost another one.But it wasn't his passing. He can't pass.He only completed 82 passes with 7 TD's and 8 ints. There passing game was ranked 111th of 117 teams.
So now you are asking how the hell are they in New Orleans with no offense.Well it's there running game.Galbreath at 5'9 gained 1,168 yds and Cobb over 700 yds. They totaled almost 1,900 yds on the ground.Gal is the straight up runner and Cobb the slasher. Both avg 4.6 yds per carry.

Cincy comes to Nawlins winning on a streak. The 1st half of their season they passed the ball more and lost.About midway Gino cut down on passing and gave the ball more to McClesky. They started to win.Gino Guidugli threw for 233-438 and over 3,300 yds,21 tds and 16 ints.Cinncy ranked 23rd and 29th in passing offense and total offense.Demarco McCl. gained over 1,000 yds and scored 17 tds.Teams had to stop the run but Gino was then hitting his 2 WR's.Van caught 70 passes for 844yds and 5 Tds and Olinger avg 20 yds per catch, over 1,000 yds and 7 Tds.This team can score from the ground or air.
Cinny defense had problems in the 1st half of the season. But got much better.Peak is a monster on the DL.He has over 27 sacks[career] and dominates the DL.Teams have to double him or run away from him.Cincy D was rated 24th in allowing 318 yds per game.

The problem tomr is NT's offense is so bad they will not be able to move the ball. With no passing game Cincy will stack the line to stop the run.Teams like Idaho and Ark St held NT to 10 and 13 pts.NT's off line could have some big problems with Peak and co.Cinncy LB's will be jamming the holes .Cobb might break one but Galbreath could have trouble running straight.Smith at QB is no threat. And he is not an option Qb.His has some fast WR's in Marshall and Branch but he won't be able to get the ball to them.

NT defense can only do so much.Gino at first will have trouble but with such a potent attack the NT defense will crack.Plus there offense will be doing 3 up and 3 down a lot.Cannot see this great defense stopping Gino and co the whole game.Lyr NT had a great defense and Colorado St scored 45 pts in this same Bowl game.Everyone talked all about the great Mean green defense. But you need an offense to balance your team.NT is in the same predicament of last yr.
Bearcats win this by at least 2 Td's.Low scoring.Maybe 27-7 or 31-7.And NT's kicking game is terrible. They cannot kick FG's.
Will play the under 45 also.
This is a strong, strong play.Luv play, whatever you want to call it.
I hate going against them but the mean green won't be to mean tomr.
My wife and I spent our 25 th wedding anniv. in New Orleans 2 yrs ago.We both are NT graduates.Met there 27 yrs ago_Owe North Texas a lot.But tomr I have to go the other way. GL

I will stay away from a side in case something grazy would happen. A somehow back door cover. But the Under I just like very much. I believe less then 42 points will be scored in this game. GL to All.

First off, great writeup and thanks for taking the time.

I do think that UNT will have some success running that offense. If they get down by 2+ scores, this game could end up with something similar to the finals you posted. Both the line and the total seem right by my numbers.
If UNT ends up with several 3rd and 6 or longer possessions, it will be a long game for the Mean Green. That is the key to this game. Add in the fact that UC has done a remarkable job of converting TO's into scores in the latter half of the season will also be critical.
Many times that first bowl come gametime find a lot of the season long bettors forcing a play. Certainly not saying thats what you are doing. Its doubtful there is any handiapper here or elsewhere that have more detailed knowledge of UNT and ARMY foots than yourself.

GL in your play tonight and the rest of the bowl season.
