I'm just curious as to why the Kings and Lakers are still the favorite's to win the west

My book is offering has the Mavs at 2.5/1 to win the west and i think this is a great investment opertunity, any feed back will be much apreciated.

THE MAVS WILL NEVER BEAT LA (I HATE LA BY THE WAY) AND THEY

DEFINITELY WILL NOT BEAT THE KINGS ESPECIALLY WHEN

WEBBER IS BACK!! I THINK THAT FUTURE IS A WASTE OF MONEY

BUT IF YOU TAKE IT..GL!

The mavs couldn't beat the lakers w/ a 27 pt lead going into the 4th quarter.
The mavs got spanked @ arco.
the mavs couldn't beat the kings w/o bobby jackson and chris webber, playing @ home.

I don't think that's a wise bet my friend.

Win the west?
does that mean, win the Western Conference Finals, or finish with the best record?
I'd interpret it as winning the Western Conference Finals, don't you think?

of course it means the western conference champions in terms of the playoffs. if you finish with the best record in your conference, you're not considered the "champions." no way lakers would be a favorite if it was by best record after the regular season. they have a ways to go just to make the playoffs

Ya, you guy's are right....it's to win the west meaning the team has to get to the final's, i thought the team just had to finish the regular season in first place.
