NBA YTD (1-0)
I rarely post NBA picks, in fact this is only my 2nd NBA pick of the year. Since there were only two games on the card tonight this teaser, which I don't play many of, jumped out on me pretty quick:
Chicago (pk)/Houston +9.5 - I was considering taking Chicago -5 as I think they will probably cover that number, but getting them at a pick looks even better. Philly is coming off a hard fought OT victory over the Spurs last night. Now they have to fly into Chicago and play the very next night against the Bulls. Not only will they be tired, but I expect them to have a letdown since they just knocked off one of the NBA giants last night. Kind of hard to get up for the Bulls when you're too busy patting yourself on the back for beating the Spurs.
I think the Rockets/Suns game is going to be a beauty and I expect it to be close throughout. The Suns are in the same situation as the Sixers. They're coming off a win last night on the road, now they fly back into Phoenix tonight and have to face a Rockets team that is starting to jell. I wouldn't be at all surprised if this game came down to the closing minute, and I truly feel the Rockets can win it outright. Staying within 9.5 doesn't seem like it should be a problem for the Rockets.
