Like your picks as usual today. That line in the NJ game is crazy, I would have thought that the Pistons would be getting points. Anyway, glad we both won on the Nets yesterday. Good job Ray!

Out of curiosity, do you ever make any 2nd half plays on the game you pick? Thanks.

I know that New Jersey has lost 14 straight games at Detroit since a 107-100 victory on February 5, 1994. But I think beyond Stackhouse there is no substance to the Pistons. Good luck to you though.

Also, are you playing any of the bowl games today? I haven't seen you over in NCAA Flying Pigskins.

Ray-- I really respect your handicapping and my numbers seem to fall in line with yours majority of the time. I hope you can tell me why you like Suns. Other than being 10-5 ATS at home, the Suns are playing poorly. They are playing back-to-back games or with no rest for the 7th time this year and are only 2-4 ATS in previous 6. Celtics have owned this series as of late as well going 7-2 ATS vs. Suns in the last 9. Here's the last 9 matchups:

Date Home Away Line ATS
12/7/2001 Bos. 109 Pho. 102 -2/188.5 Bos./O
3/15/2001 Pho. 101 Bos. 105 -6.5/188 Bos./O
1/26/2001 Bos. 99 Pho. 83 2.5/187 Bos./U
3/20/2000 Pho. 110 Bos. 106 -8/199.5 Bos./O
1/28/2000 Bos. 91 Pho. 88 1.5/196.5 Bos./U
12/30/1997 Pho. 100 Bos. 90 -6.5/197.5 Pho./U
11/28/1997 Bos. 108 Pho. 112 7.5/208 Bos./O
2/12/1997 Pho. 131 Bos. 100 -10.5/220.5 Pho./O
1/5/1997 Bos. 109 Pho. 102 3.5/N Bos./-

Numbers don't mean everything I know. Suns upset about earlier loss this year giving up a tip in to A.Walker at the buzzer to force OT in which the Celtics won by 7. Is revenge the deciding factor? 1 more interesting stat is Celtics are 5-0 ATS vs. teams above .500 on the road. Your reasoning would be much appreciated as I thought Celts were in a good spot. Good luck as always.

Hi Raymond,

Just saw your question under another thread about the NJ/DET game.

Been busy breaking down games and finalizing the trip to Vegas and Orlando two days later. I'll be in Vegas 1/30 about 10 pm.

Back to the DET game. I find it difficult to cap games through this holiday layoff. Nets played last night, Pistons - 4 day layoff. One key is who is going to show up tonight. Personally prefer the rested team, considering the Nets had to play hard for the win last night. Short trip to Detroit though.

Think the line is about right, at -3. Detroit just came off a brutal, 5 game. west coast swing. They lost all five.

Looking at both teams schedules, see no looking ahead and the Pistons focused.

Hard to overlook the Piston's domination of this series of late. Really don't buy into the Nets revenge factor.

May pass, but would not play the Nets tonight. Looking hard at the under, feeling this game will fall under by 2-4 pts.

gl!
