--- Just read Shareef is doubtful for tonights game! Still like the Hawks (line is +10 now) but not as strong as before.
One game stands out so far...
Hawks +9.5 over NETS
Teams are pretty evenly matched.
PG: Kidd vs. Terry
Kidd is an All-Pro but Terry isn't bad. Terry can't pass as well, but will score.
SG: Kittles vs. Newble
Newble is a defensive specialist and steady on offense, taking good shots, 49.8% from the floor last year. Kittles is erratic, can be shut down.
SF: Jefferson vs. Big Dog
Jefferson is in his 2nd year and everyone loves him. I think he's over-rated and not ready to handle an All-Star like GRob.
PF: KMart vs. Shareef
Shareef can score inside outside and grab a few boards. KMart is strong but game is still mostly garbage points, put backs and dunks. Close match up.
C: Mutombo vs. Ratliff. Ratliff is a shorter, younger version of Mutombo. He is very under-rated and can control the middle and intimidate. Mutombo will be alright. Probably a few key turnovers.
Bench:
NJ vs ATL
bangers: Collins vs Mohammed
offense: Rogers vs Glover
other: Lucious Harris, Aaron Williams, ? vs. Alan Henderson, Darvin Ham, Dan Dickau
These teams are very closely matched. Home court will prolly give Nets +1.5 b/c Continential Airlines isn't exactly MSG.
Hawks should be close the whole way with a possible outright win.
Hawks are my secret team for the early season. Ride them because Vegas doesn't know about them...yet.
