Record:
Sides 1-0
First Quarter Side: 1-0
Second half Side : 1-0
Starting bankroll : $605
Current bankroll : $1145.11
Things have been falling in place today also. Lets see if we can keep up the run and make some money.
Playing the following:
ORL Magic @ MIA Heat
(Point Spread) ORL Magic -3.5
Risk: 145.11 To Win: 131.92
I think this line gives too much respect to Miami. Agreed Miami has great record when it comes to opening game. But their players may be rusty and Magic had a great game yesterday and will be full of confidence.
Miami is the phase of rebuilding. Couple of rookies who may be good but can be defensive liabilities.
Orlando pulled away from Philly yesterday in the end and you can see that Orlando is one hungry team. Grant Hill is back and MacGrady started where he left off last season scoring 31 points in the opener. The new rookie for Orlando played very well also.
Carter will be starting at point ahead of Travis Best for Miami. Both teams have problem at Centre. Brian Grant is an undersized Centre. If Stephania starts at Centre than Brian Grant will most likely be at Power Forward position. Miami will have to depend on Sean Marks [who got $$ for sitting on bench in Toronto] or Malik Allen for the PF spot depending on who is playing at Centre.
I think the duo tandem of Hill and MacGrady will be too much to handle for Miami. Miami style of play is not the running game and they tend to keep things slow. Orlando plays a fast paced game and Magic may get some fast breakaway points. Magic did not get a good seeding last year and I am sure they want to go deep into the Eastern Conference.
Kemp played decent minutes yesterday for 6 points and 7 rebounds on 3-5 shooting.
ATS Miami did extremely well against the Magic last season. But I am not considering last year because:
a. They have Grant Hill back who can be a big scorer and play good defence.
b. MacGrady has started to play defence and rebound well along with his usual offence.
c. Kemp even though he is not even a fraction of the player he was in Seattle can be much more productive then Ewing was last season.
d. Miami are not totally undersized against Miami as compared to other teams like Sixers or Nets.
e. Mourning is on the IL. Mourning averaged 15.7 points and 8.4 rebounds last season.
Miller and Garrity along with Armstrong can light up the basket from outside.
I have a lot of respect for Pat Riley but the young guns coached by Doc Rivers are ready to take over.
I see Magic winning by at least 8 points or so.
Good luck and Cheers !!!
