best bets (6-4) (+4.80 units)
strong plays (11-14) (-8.80 units)
regular plays (15-15) (-1.50 units)
overall (32-33) (-5.50 units)
opinions (13-16) no units just for fun
another good week. tied on my best bet last with with indiana +4, and that should have been a winner. hit both top plays and both regular plays. i cannot believe how much better i am doing since i started making my picks on tuesday for the whole week just going off gut feelings and not reading too much about the games. i am almost out of the hole after being down over 20 units. college football is getting close the the end already, hard to imagine. been a fast year.
UNDER 42.5 penn state/michigan (BEST BET).............i usually don't play many totals, but this one is easy. penn states sucks! no doubt about it. but, they do have a great defense. their problem is their offense is equally as bad. michigan state not the same team on the road as they are at home. i think they are still good enoght to beat penn state though, but i am not playing the side here. there is a reason penn state is favored in this one. if for some reason this line drops below three, but i doubt it will, i will be back with a play on michigan state too. this really has the makings of a 13-10 type of game. better jump this one now because i know this line will fall. i am suprised this total hit the forties. i would have thought around mid thirties. like i said, total are rare for me, and now i made this my best bet of the week.
utah -21.5 over byu (STRONG PLAY).........note sure where byu's head will be after losing last week at home to new mexico. i have been waiting for utah to not play so well, and they just keep scoring points at will. their offense truly seems unstoppable. i would love to see how they would do against the big boys (usc, okahoma, auburn), but will probably will not get the chance. utah needs to pound people to move up in the bcs standings, and i think they will. in a normal year, i would take byu plus all those points, but utahs offense is not normal this year. utah 55-17.
indiana +20 over purdue (STRONG PLAY).............yeah, this should be a blowout. it won't. purdue looked like they were going to have a great season, with a super great quarterback, and things have completely fallen apart. purdue qb was a lock for the heisman trophy a few weeks ago. i know indiana is not all that great, but i just don't see them getting blown out. alot of games this time of year are rivalry games and strange things can happen in them. i am not saying indiana beats them, but i see a battle. cannot trust a purdue team playing well below what they should be right now.
alabama +10 over auburn (REGULAR PLAY).........this might not be a very popular pick. auburn has been awesome. this will only be auburns 4th road game this year. anything can happen in a auburn/alabama game. this is bamas season here. i realize they could get blown out, and they might, but my money is on their defense at home to play a great game. championship teams always have a struggle or two along the way and i think this will be auburns game to struggle. i think they pull a close win out. i would love to see them win it all over usc or oklahoma . 17-13 auburn.
georgia tech +6 over virginia (REGULAR PLAY)..........another nice home doggie here. tech won rather easily vs a decent connecticut team last week. virginia lost a tough on at home vs miami, a game they were expected to win to prove they belong with teams like miami. if at virginia i could see them bouncing back and winning, but not a georgia tech laying almost a touchdown. i can see an outright win here, but will take those points just in case.
OPINIONS.........no writeups, sorry.
cincinnati -11.5 over s florida
navy -4 over rutgers
there you go, hoping to be on the plus side after this week in college football. i am plus 13 units in the nfl this year, first time in a long time i am winning in the nfl and losing in college. this year i am going to finish on the plus side in both. good luck everybody!!
side note: love college hoops and do rather well, but i am waiting for conference play to start in case some of you were wondering where my ncaa hoops picks were. it is insane to try to figure it out now with all these strange matchups. although big favs from what i have seen have been doing well so far. it is tempting, but i will wait.
