Tonight, playing everything small tonight:

Maryland over 51 **
Kent State Golden Flashes +12 *
BYU-3.5 *
Utah-18.5, currently a *play, if line drops this play will be upgraded.

Both Maryland and NIU have outstanding offenses and can put points up on the board, the weather conditions are excellent for a high scoring game tonight as fatigue should set in on both defenses around the 3rd quarter. Both coaches the Big Ralpf and Novak are offensive masterminds so this game could be a classic shootout.

Kent plus the points: While Akron returns all the starters on offense the real question surrounding the ZIps will be the ability of their defense to step it up this year and stop the bleeding. I know Akron will be able to score on the Flashes but I also think that everyone is forgetting about the talent that Kent posseses on the offensive side of the ball in Nix and Alston, both of these guys were hurt early in the year last year and this led to the terrible season that Kent had. As I mentioned in a earlier thread both of these coaches are hanging by a thread and the loser of this game could move even closer to the unemployment line, Coach Pee's at Kent has taken over the Defense for 2003 and he has a great background in this area while at Michigan State. I look for this game to be a high scoring affair with Kent possibly pulling the upset.

BYU over GTech: The Yellow Jackets program is in a mess with the academic suspensions and other problems that have hit the program over the summer. On the other hand, BYU returns all 11 starters on defense and if Crowton can get decent QB play this year there is no reason why the Cougar's cannot win 9 games. The Yellow Jackets will be starting a inexperienced backfield as Suggs has been beaten out of the job at QB and a freshman may be the starting tailback tonight. The fans should be rabid in Utah tonight, and last year Tech needed two late 4th quarter td's to beat a young and inexperienced Cougar team.

Utah over Utah State: The Aggies were terrible last year and lost 9 guys on each side of the ball, they will be starting a QB tonight whom has thrown a grand total of 16 passes in his college career. Last year the Aggies had trouble stopping the opponets on defense and now they are going to be introduced to Urban Meyer's high tempo offense which will go out of a no huddle formation for at least half the game. Also, the Ute's will use a spread offense that can really decimate a young defense. The Ute's lost alot of heartbreakers last year, I believe they lost a total of 6 games by a combined margin of 26 and traditionally the Ute's have owned this series. The only reason that I do not make this a higher play is I am not sure if the Ute's have had time to fully grasp the offense that Urban brings with him from Bowling Green, if they have got it then look out this game could get ugly.

Hey way to come out of the gate, 3-1 on the night! I took your advice on playing Kent State on the money line, thanks! Now tell me what you think about WVU-Wisc?

Patron,

At this time I have no play on the Wisky and WVU game, just my opinion but I think Wisky has alot more talent and a better coach but Morgantown can be a tough atmosphere for a visiting team.
