Im not a big NCAA follower but it seems to me the suspensions that are being dealt lately are very arbitrary. Lets keep it real. Top Collegiate athletes have been getting perks for yrs and the OSU suspensions for selling stuff seems harsh. Especially when you have the best player in NCAA FB getting away with what we all know is worse asking for payolla to commit. Thoughts?

agree.....thought 5 games was too much for the crime. really you could find stuff similar too that at every university in Div. 1. they all do it.

very curious too see if this influences pryor too enter draft before he really wanted too.

Just seems strange the way punishments are handed out. For instance I bet Kansas State on Tues then found out next morn that 2 of thier best players were suspended for accepting clothing? Now they give Cam Newton the Heisman when he and his dad were asking for $$$ for his commitment? Give Reggie Bush his trophy back!!!

Aj green was suspended 4 games for same violation, so would appear they are escalating the consequences for each instance.

I think the 'haul' the OSU players got more than the $1K Green got. However, Green essentially self-reported that violation if I remember right, and didn't play once the event occurred. Richt sat him out their season opener knowing something would be coming down. The NCAA tacked on 3 more games making it a 4 game suspension.

The OSU players got more games, however they were not ruled ineligible for this past season (which would end up in forfeits of wins, shared Big Ten title, etc) as well as the whole bowl game thing.
