cruising out to a 5-7-1 record to start off the 2006 campaign...
seems like alot of folks are on the seminoles tonight
FSU has lost a lot on the defensive side of the ball. They lost 6 of their top 7 tacklers from last year.
Also Miami is facing some adversity at some of the skill positions yet they continue to be favored by 3.5 points. I think that hook is there to attract money for the road team.
Miami's defense is stout w/ the best safety tandem in the country, a solid front 4 and a stud at LB (Beason).
I also think that the Canes have the better QB. Yeah yeah yeah, last year Drew Weatherford broke the ACC freshman passing record but he also threw 18 interceptions to go along w/ his 18 TD's. Kyle Wright also had 18 TD's but only threw 10 int's.
The reason Weatherford had so many passing yards last year is FSU threw the ball so much because their running game was paltry. They ranked 109th last year in rushing, mustering only 94 ypg, Bowden's worst mark in the 30 years he has been there.
Miami outplayed FSU in last years game having a 21-9 first downs edge and outgaining the seminoles 313-170 in the yardage department. They are also coming off of an embarrasing loss in their bowl game to LSU and they will be hungry to disprove the doubters at home in the national spotlight.
Also I read that the Seminoles don't really know what to prepare for from the Hurricanes because the "U" is implementing a new offense this year. Speaking of offense, FSU OC Bowden is scary and FSU faithful have been calling for his head for a few years now.
Miami is 19-1 SU and 10-4-1 ATS since 1986 in home openers.
Miami is 6-2 SU and ATS in the last 8 meetings w/ FSU
Miami is 21-4 SU in its last 25 games at home
The Play:
Florida State v. Miami
Miami on the moneyline loss
big play 0-1
good luck
