Ok, the season is almost here!! Just 2 days to go!!
NCAA FOOTBALL 2013-2014
August 29 - September 2, 2013
NORTH CAROLINA +11 1/2 (2 units) Fedora under-rated coach, Heels scored over 40 PPG LY and some minor bruises to SC "D" over the workout period, not much of a travel distance, Heels have a solid QB in Renner and this team plays well under the ESPN TV lights.
OVER 53 1/2 USC/HAWAII (3 units) Trojans to platoon QB's? Ok. Hawaii under Chow will score some points, however USC deep in receivers and runners and this should become a nice shootout on the Island, USC 42 Hawaii 17
OVER 44 1/2 WESTERN MICHIGAN/MICHIGAN ST (1 unit)
TOLEDO +23 1/2 (1 unit) I like the lefty QB for the Rockets, he can run and has a decent passing touch, FLA lost some key "D" players from LY and it may take time for this team to gel.
NORTHERN ILLINOIS +3 (1 unit) Jordan Lynch wants this one badly, Hawkeyes very tough "D", but no "O".
NORTHERN ILLINOIS +135 (1 unit)
OVER 45 1/2 ALA/VA TECH (2 units) Bama key offensive players back, deep on the OL and deep everywhere on "D", VT has their QB back and some key "D" players, but they are going backwards in a spiral, Bama 42 VT 10
ALA BIRMINGHAM +3 1/2 (5 units) UAB embarassed at home LY vs Troy losing 39-29, HC McKee has many of his 2012 starters back, Troy lost basically everyone but their QB, Blazer gets the "W" here, 38-31
ALA BIRMINGHAM +150 (2 units)
WESTERN KENTUCKY +4 1/2 (5 units) Hilltoppers playing this one in neutral site, Nashville have some quality players back and future NFL players in RB, LB and DB's, most OL back for WK, KY with new HC and system in place, but it will take time to figure out Bobby Petrino's schemes, WKU 35 KY 24
WESTERN KENTUCKY +170 (2 units)
UL MONROE +21 1/2 (2 units) Sooners lost their starting QB and several other players, but return rushing QB and some WRs, ULM can put up points and gave some SEC teams fits last year.
OVER 65 WYOMING/NEBRASKA (5 units) Big Red capable of putting up 49 points here and possibly give up 21.
TEX SAN ANTONIO +3 (2 units) Do you really know TSA has a football team folks? Remember lame duck HC at UM, Larry Coker? The Roadrunners have many returnees back and New Mexico returns just 5 on "O" and 3 on "D".
TEX SAN ANTONIO +135 (1 unit)
GEORGIA -2 (5 units) Bulldogs will get to Clemson QB eventually, lots of new faces on "D" for Dawgs, but they always have depth and have one of the best offenses in college football and Clemson not exactly going to stop them on "D". Murray, the Dawg RBs and Marshall are very good, Clemson does feature Heisman hopeful Tahj Boyd and WR, but they lost a few weapons as well. This game comes down to who coughs up the ball. GA 38 CLEM 31.
OVER 57 1/2 NEW MEX ST/TEXAS (3 units) Horns capable of putting up 56, they may give up a FG here
WASHINGTON -3 1/2 (2 units) Huskies really? They can win this one? Youbetcha peeps!! Sarkasian good in revenge mode, this one at home, Boise rebuilding in several spots with JUCO players, not always that quickly of an assembly to gel together and HC Petersen is good, but Huskies have some talent and a QB that could have a breakout year and vengeful from 28-26 defeat in Bowl game last winter. UW 35 Boise 24.
OVER 52 1/2 BOISE ST/WASHINGTON (5 units)
WASHINGTON -170 (1 unit)
OVER 58 N'WESTERN/CAL (2 units) Cal with new HC Dykes, offensive minded, NW also has weapons back and capable of scoring in bunches as well, they average 32 LY while giving up just 22 and have 8/7 returnees on "O" and "D" and good HC in Fitz. I like NW to pull this one out on the road 42-30.
NORTHWESTERN -5 1/2 (2 units)
OVER 58 OHIO/LOUISVILLE (5 units) UL capable of putting up big numbers here, but OHIO no slouch when it comes to scoring points, they average 32 LY while giving up 25. Tettleton decent run/pass QB and they have some skill players on "O", UL must improve on "D" where they gave up 24 PPG LY. This is a set up of a 49-21 type game.
