St Joes -3.5 over Auburn
Delonte and Nelson are the 2 best gd tandem in the nation.On defense they shut you down and dictate to their opponent where the ball is going.I love St Joes.The rest are role players.Carroll can shoot from row 3,Sazonov is a 7'footer that just rebounds.They are short frontline players.But there team defense is outstanding.Auburn is at the wrong dance.But they are out to prove they belong.Those teams sometimes scare me.Memphis "bitched" about its seeding and like I predicted ASU sent them packing.Daniels is Auburns big stud.They are more athletic and quicker then Joes.But Martelli has watched the Tigers offense and with all the backcourt pressure I see Joes winning by 6-10 pts.
LSU -5 over Purdue
LSU is so dangerous.This is all about "style vs.brut".Sliding and gliding vs shove and push.LSU has won 5 str and 9 of 12.Purdue has lost 6 of last 10.Dupree is a stud.With Lloreda,Bright and Temple this team is explosive.The last half of the season they have played great pressure defense.Purdue had Deane who is some what inconsistent.They play a halfcourt offense but I think the Tigers won't let them.Purdue is an avg rebounding team with a decent frontline.LSU will have problems with teams with big frontlines.Matchup goes with LSU.
Cuse -7.5 over Manhattan
I know these 2 teams better then anybody.You are all probaly bored as hell with all my long ass caps of these teams.MC and Bobby G want to be the giant killers.A terrible matchup for Manhattan.Flores will shine.Frontline of Holmes,Johnson,Benton and the rest could of problems here.Cuse has height and speed.Carmelo is a force inside and outside.With the addition of Edelin at gd they can matchup with anyone.With the 2-3 matchup zone everyone knows how to attack it.But can teams score.Duany,Warrick,Forth,etc all have big wing spans.MC best shooters are Kono and Jackette[beside Flores]But there not big and both are slow footed.Mac attack and Carmelo vs a solid Mnahattan defense will still score.I think Bobby G keeps his kids in this game right up to 5 or 6 minuts.But Cuse has greyhounds.I hate this game because my heart is with manhattan.But I think Boes boys prevail.
OSU -3 over Penn
Penn has a great coach.Plays great defense.Has some solid studs that can shoot the hell out of the ball.Can beat many D-1 teams across the nation.Oneykwe,Archibong,Toole,Schiffner,etc.But OSU is a B-12 team.But one that plays great pressure defense.That is the key.I think Penn could beat the Baylors,Am's,etc.But they live with the outside shot.Cowboys will contest many of those today.Williams is a bluechipper.Sanders,Allen,etc are all greyhounds.Team did slump recently but its a new dance hall.
Gotta run.Have TV set up in Library for Cuse-MC game.Made announcement in school that Library is closed today for inventory.Hope MC wins.
