NEBRASKA/SOUTHERN MISS Under 37.5 - Nebraska may hold a class edge here, but the bottom line is that this is still 2 mediocre at best offenses and 2 pretty good defenses. In fact, the Nebraska defense could be considered great, as they are allowing just 8.0 points and 208.0 total yards of offense per game. I would not be surprised to see them hold Southern Miss to single digits, especially with Golden Eagles QB Mickey D?Angelo being doubtful. Southern Miss would like to run the ball some to take pressure off of the backup QB, but that plays right into the strength of a Nebraska defense that is allowing just 63.3 rushing yards per game on a scant 2.6 yards per carry! While the Cornhuskers should have considerably more offensive success here, their strength is their running game, as they are averaging a whopping 292.7 RUSHING yards per game, which is almost as much as the 299.3 TOTAL yards Southern Miss averages! However, running the ball also means running the clock, so I see this as a very low-scoring affair.
