joe - Looks like the smart money is on the over. Miami does actually have a pretty good D for being in a D-less conference.

What I think is gonna happen is that the public will be all over Marshall because they dont know shit about Miami. Sure they might of heard of Big Ben but they dont know Luke Clemens...Jason Branch or anybody else of the 3 amigos. The linebackers are of the MACs best...This will be one hell of a game though...

hellah, why do you say the public will be all over marshall when it appears the books haven't found a number yet that will draw any marshall action since the game came back up? it looks to me like the action is extremely heavy on miami. like you, i also believe leftwich will play if needed. my understanding is he is not likely to aggravate the shin injury if he plays, it's just a question of how much pain he can tolerate. if this line keeps going up i'll most likely end up on the herd.

Iam at work right now...and a few people here you follow sports somewhat are asking me stuff about the MAC....and thy gamble here and there...small players...10 or 20 bucks max. HAd about 15 people come up to me thus far and tell me that Marshall is a lock cuz they were only laying 2 points and now they are getting a point....that my friend is the true public. Everyone here is an Ohio St fan first of all...so thats all they have there mind set on. Iam surrounded with posters of Eddie George and David Boston...calendars with Tressel on it and last years Mich/OSU score...frankly I want to barf everyday....but anyhow....thats the public - and these people dont even know where Miami(OH) is

My lline has gone from Marshall -1.5 to Miami -2. I noticed it jumped immediately after the report and confirmation on ALL the ESPN networks this afternoon that B. Leftwich will not start. Most of the betting public knows nothing about Miami but a lot about Leftwich therefore I think we will continue to see the public on Miami. I hope not as I I am huge fan of your MAC capping Hellah. then who drove the line 3- points in marshall's favor in the 3 and a half hours the game has been back on the board? and what happens to leftwich's heisman hopes if he sits out the game after a loss to akron? seems to me that marshall and leftwich have a lot riding on this game.

Ive seen Miami play against Iowa and watched game film of when they played Toledo and Ohio....and that defense is GOOD. I mean it...for being in the MAC Miami and Northern have the best Ds I have seen in a long time. Miami -5 even has value...nothing over 7 though. Miami has one thing going for them....they are the best road team in the nation...I think only 1 road loss...

I don't know about such things in Toledo, but I sure find it odd that $10 - $20 players are eagarly following line moves on a MAC game.

BTW , I attended the Marshall-Akron game and the Herd simply was not an offensive force with out him. The had trouble moving against one of the very poorest defenses in div.1 football.

Leftwich was interviewed by Rome yesterday and made it appear very doubtful that he could be ready today, so I don't think he's going at all. Why possibly risk a multi million contract on this game? He's going first round despite of Marshalls success, or lack there of, tonight and the rest of the year.

My over/under is now up to 56 points. Hellah, with what I have read from your posts this should be a very tough number to get to if Leftwich is out and the defense of Miami is as good as you have claimed. My line is staying steady at -2. I was thinking about making equal straight plays on both Miami at -2 and the under 56. I must admit, I have not seen Miami play a single second this year but I have a lot of confidence in your analysis within this conference. I can not wait until College Hoops as I feel that I will be able to contribute more to these forums once we get there.
