New Orleans game was NOT a "bad beat"

The non-call sucked. No one can legitimately say otherwise. But, it isn't a bad beat.

There was no guaranty the Saints would get a touchdown. Bad beats involve an unusual, or unrealistic result that immediately changes the side that cashed the bet.

Compouned by the fact that the Saints got a lot of missed calls to go their way. Yes, that 1 play cost them the game IN THAT MOMENT, but there were many missed calls that even allowed them to get to that point. 4 badly missed calls don't get swept under the rug because of the timing of 1 bad call that went against you.

Oh, and that play didn't cost them the game. Them not getting a stop in OT, or perhaps scoring first in OT, is what cost them.

I think the thing that has everyone so upset was that it happened right in front of the ref. There was no way him or the other officials could have missed it. As fans and betters we are used to bad calls.

You're right, a TD would not be guaranteed. However, a flag there would have resulted in 1st and goal from the 6 yard line with one timeout for the Rams. Whether or not they punch it into the end zone there, the Saints would have been able to run the clock down to about 10-12 seconds with a chip shot field goal to go up three. Definitely a "bad beat" if you are the Saints or had a Saints ML ticket because it drastically altered the probability of winner of the game at that point.

What am I assuming? That Sean Payton with would manage the remaining game clock well enough to leave the Rams with too little time to get down into scoring position? Or that the Rams wouldn't be able to drive into scoring position and kick a long FG in under 10 seconds? My point is that the PROBABILITY of the Saints winning was drastically altered by that call. Nothing is ever 100% (or "clear cut" as you say) in any game where a bad beat is involved. Thats why its called a bad beat. Prior to that play, the Saints had about an 80% chance to win the game. Had that play been properly flagged, their chances to win the game would have gone up to higher than 98% based on the time left in the game and the remaining timeout for the Rams. I think that if you lose a game that you had less than 2% chance of losing, that qualifies as a bad beat.

My ass is chapped about the BS calls or reversals in the KC game. Let's see why? I spent a shit ton of money to travel and buy tickets, sitting in freezing weather pulling for the Chiefs. The refs dictated the outcome of the game, instead of incomplete pass? Roughing the passer and NE goes on to score what would be a game winning TD. And I won't even discuss what indisputable evidence is? Who knows? While it was an excellent game to see and be at.........The fans and the players do not deserve to be screwed by a couple of either uniformed or biased officials! That's completely fucking unacceptable.......

sean payton coached a trash game, and the rams won even though they probably played their 2nd worst game of the season ( bears game ). If they do get that penalty, Rams let them score a TD, and Rams probably tie it up with a TD anyway......I can say that because the Saints were determined to choke this game away

Well, the Saints had every opportunity to stop the Rams from scoring after thst, and failed.

We've all seen missed extra points, dropped snaps, etc. 98% is not a gimme!

I think were confusing a bad beat with a horrible refereeing. That call is made 1 million out of 1 million times on that pass interference in a game that?s the first time that I can ever remember a guy getting tackled going for a touchdown and there?s no flag on the play for anything, I?d like to see someone bring another one to my attention. At least the Saints get a field goal leaving may be a little bit over minute on the clock and believe me it?s a lot harder to kick a game tying field goal than it is to kick a game-winning field goal when the game is tied the pressure is not even close to being on the same level.
