Lets see how we do after last night's huge win. . . probably good fade material (here's your chance to get me Hack), but the Bowl season is my only true money maker in college football the past couple years.
Best Bet:
Georgia laying anything over Florida State
Up to 10 points. . . people, this is real simple in my mind. . . the books were begging for money to come in on FSU from the beginning making them a dog and a significant one at that as they were getting over 3 points. Now with FSU down to their 3rd string QB, how can 8.5 be enough? This to me looks a lot like Maryland/Tennessee in that Georgia is just the better team in so many areas that FSU will need a lot to go their way in order to even compete. FSU's name and expected talent from the beginning of the year is what has kept them within a double digit dog against this very very good Georgia squad who's only loss came at Florida where hardly anybody walks away with a win (especially in big games). If this looks like a trap to anybody, please explain how you expect FSU to score with this QB? Run the ball all afternoon or throw the ball and get picked off several times? LOL
The rest:
Washington State taking 7 (will buy the point but hopefully won't have to worry about it) over Oklahoma
GMoney's game of the year and I have to agree with the value here. He indicated that Oklahoma has not faced such a strong passing attack all season but I would counter by saying WSU hasn't faced a similar quality defense since Ohio State and we all know what happened there. Still, WSU has had a long time to develop strategies on how to break down this OU defense. The argument can be made that OU's defense has had enough time to break down WSU's offense but not if they come up with a solid offensive scheme designed to exploit the few weaknesses of this defense. If WSU's offensive line can hold up and give Gesser a little time in the pocket, we should be fine. I also feel that WSU's defense is no pushover and should cramp the OU offense.
Michigan +1 over Florida
I don't believe the Gators can win this game on the road. . . would never bet against them in their own house, but this is a different story. Think the Wolves will be extra motivated here but who knows, I'm sure the Gators will be as well. I just like how the Wolverines played towards the end of the season. Only question mark as always is Navarre. . . he needs to be on in order to allow Perry to run the ball effectively. If they only run the ball effectively, they lose. If they can pass and run the ball, they win. I like the way Navarre handled himself against OSU's incredibly tough defense. The story was that Michigan wasn't able to punch it in for the tds, but they were able to move the ball and I think they will be able to punch it in against the Gator's defense.
Happy New Year's all and good luck today!
