I couldn't do it. Just two crappy teams. Better value on the next game in my opinion. May put something on the 2H if I see a total I can't pass up. Good luck!

Time to get serious about these bowls.... I have shoveled enuff snow over the last 2 days for my quota.... Back and knees are feeling it. Not a spring chicken anymore.... Top it off, the snowblower is broke and I can't fix it. Need to win a couple of wagers to buy a new one.

Onward...

Tomorrow Morning... "The Heart of Dallas Bowl"...

No Texas +11 over Army... 4 units *Why? This basically amounts to a home game for the Mean Green. Yes, I know, they are lucky to be playing in the post season bowls and only qualified from the APR (Academic Progress Rate) but let's not forget that they shanghaied Army in October winning 35-18.....Hard to believe but this is just the 6th Bowl game in Black Knights long and storied history

In the first match up, Army had 7 turnovers, so they pretty much shot themselves in the foot. Somewhere I read that Army will have 300 yards on the ground just stepping off the bus, and that may be true, but I think Mean Green will have a game plan in hand to slow down this option and force Army to throw once in a while, something they despise. Anyway, I like that No Texas will have confidence after already winning before, and that this is a home game with a little chip on their shoulders after being looked down on for that APR...... I wouldn't be shocked to see another win here, but will take the points and the huge Texas egos that go with them!

Minnesota +10 over Washington St.... 4 units.... *Not going overboard on a write up for this one. Think Minnesota will control clock by running it up WsU Ass. I'm sure Leach has an interesting game plan for this one, and Gopher secondary can be exploited, but Im starting my "Im not a fan of Pac 12 football today"..... Give me some rodents in this one.. Went to the game (Foster Farm Bowl) in Santa Clara (my nephew plays football for a Juco team just out of the Bay Area) ... They all got free tickets, and since a lot of his teammates went home for Christmas, I decided to leave the snow and use one of the tickets.

As most of you probably know, I live on the West Coast. One would think that I would be behind the PAC 12 teams that kinda represents our geographical area, however, you would be wrong..... I have made a ton of cash (Don't want to alert the IRS) by simply betting contrarian PAC 12....Sure there has been years where the PAC 12 (back then 10) has made a good showing, but those years are the exception, certainly not the rule. One of the largest wagers I have ever won was when USC played Texas in the National Championship, and I bet Texas ML...... It was joyous.

So here we are again, another college bowl season and already I have made some money backing opponents of the PAC 12. The fact that Utah won but didn't cover was a bonus.... In this thread, I had Minnesota the other afternoon, and sure enough here comes Wash St to again show the nation why the the PAC 12 doesn't show up for bowling.

You could probably see where I'm going with this.... I bet 7 Units on the Oklahoma St ML +145......I see the late money appears to be backing the Cowboys so I will ride along.... YeeHaw! Gl

Nice little ML win yesterday with the Cowboys.......but today's a new opportunity.

Stanford / No Carolina Over 54......6 units *OK, your probably wondering how I just sat on the podium and pronounced all PAC 12 teams completely inept in the Bowl season, and you'd be right, however, the Cardinal is my one exception as they usually bring their A game to the Bowls (3-1 in last 4.... loss to Mich St in Rose). Also, the PAC 12 has won 3 of the last 4 Sun Bowls..... So, who am I to try and fit the square peg in a round hole... er, you get my point.

Honestly, I really don't have a clue who is going to win this one, but I do know that if you think the Trees will be handicapped without their Heismanless McCaffrey then you will be surprised by the #2 RB Bryce Love who averages 7 yards a pop and had 664 yards w/2 Tds taking over for Christian when he was injured. Also, QB Keller Chryst is a mobile, dual threat athlete who is undefeated since taking over play calling. The O Line is physically dominant (will be the toughest challenge UNC has faces) and they are smart (no dummies allowed in Palo Alto).

So why won't I put my money on Tar Heels? UNC has lost 3 of its last 4 Bowls......and 6 of 8. Doesn't exactly inspire confidence. In fact, their last 3 Bowl games were ugly blow outs. I do fear that Tar Heels might not be too happy about this game, but, it will provide QB Mitch Trubisky another stage to flaunt his wares to the NFL community if he is so inclined. The kid is just what the NFL looks for, a 6'3" 220 lbs with mobility, size, field sense, and Pro style skills. He's very accurate, hitting nearly a 70% completion rate with 28 Tds and 5 more on the ground... He has only 4 Ints.

Tar Heels have some good WRs and I expect a lot of passing tomorrow. Tar Heels aren't a running team, and have no Rbs with 1,000 yards. They also limit turn overs and do a great job holding on to the ball (4 turnovers against Vtech was in a deluge)....

Stanford will try to manage the clock and run the ball. They will be somewhat effective and should be able to put up some points against Tar Heel D. My biggest concern with Stanford is that it's last 5 games were against teams that failed to go bowling. The Stanford O struggled against Colorado 10-5 loss (and look what those Buffs did tonight)... They failed miserably against Washington and Notre Dame (although those Defenses are a step up from Tar Heels. In fact, UNC run D allows 200+ yards rushing 8 times, and in each of the last 4 games

I believe these two can get to the Over with Stanford running the ball and Tar Heels passing all over the field. Good luck if you choose a side.. RR. .

Still a little perturbed that my Stanford/N Carolina total didn't take. I had it capped right, too many points left off the board and really could've used that 2 pt conversion.. Oh well

2nd half plays

Gtech TT over 14....4 units
*Rambling has Cats where they want them.... Going to get a healthy dose of Triple Option, should wear down Defense and get a couple of scores.

Louisville TT over 13'...4 units
Loss
*Guess we will see how Gutless Cardinal is. Their QB is supposed to be pretty good, we shall see.

Just crushing it with these anti-Pac 12 games..........Not sure where all the money was coming from prior to the game, but the books did well here in Tahoe.... Lots of people running around with Huskies gear.

Played the Under 29 1st Half for the Clemson game for 5 units.... Think both teams may be a little tight, will look at the half to see if there is better opportunity.. Gl..... WINNER-WINNER!

Well I got greedy expecting Urban to have some adjustments and be able to put up a couple of scores...... 1st Half Under was golden.... Just didn't see that coming..

A couple of people are disparaging the Big 10 for their failures (Buckeye & Wolverine) however, it appears to me that even a greater failure is what I see out of the Pac 12.....a Gambling Golden Ticket (don't forget the Huskies were clueless themselves)...

So now, here comes Jared University and USC (home for wayward rap stars) to try and bring the last remaining vestiges of gridiron lore to the Rose Bowl in what should again be prime examples of two conferences that have pretty much proven they should stick to rugby..

Have a Merry New Year Boys and Girls, I'm off to lose my money on the South Shore dens of inequities...

Live from downtown Reno,

Probably don't have to guess which team I'm betting on.

Penn St +7'....5 units

I've read a lot of the different cappers opinions on this game. Yes, the Rose Bowl is pretty much a home game for USC. Penn St traveled along way to get here. Both teams have something to prove, for themselves and for the conference they represent.

This game won't kill my bankroll no matter how it turns out, but I think Nittany can hang here. I think this one may be closer than people think.. Gl

Well, it's pretty much time to close up the shop in the College Football Forum..... Lots of great cappers in here helped me to see very nice season.

Final College Football: 123-116-4 -12.55 units....

HSF Plays: 77-56-3: +33.6 units

Believe it or not I actually turned quite a profit on College Football with some picks from some fine handicappers here. Also, I made the most of my money on Halftime wagers (something I'm unable to post as there just isn't enough time to make the wager (especially if I'm in line at South Lake or Reno Casino Sportsbooks)... So Sorry..

Perhaps the most fun was posting Degen plays that ended up showing a nice profit. I still feel a little weird betting on schools like the CA School for the Deaf... But, may as well take advantage if they are going to hang a number.... Plus, I feel that going forward the information gleaned from the rosters and young stars going Div 1 should help in my future capping endeavors...

Anyway, Thanks to all of you that posted consistently in the forum for your knowledge, information, and expertise of your teams in our constant pursuit of beating the number...

On to College Hoops...And Thank you PAC 12 for your continued ineptitude
