Where it is real F ing COLD
Bears (Bye)
Washington vs Detroit 1 PM Eastern
Green Bay vs NY Jets 1PM Eastern
Minnesota vs New England 4:15 Eastern

Detroit -2.5

Detroit is coming off the bye with Matthew Stafford back as the starting QB and he goes up against a Washington tem that squeeked one out against the Bears despite multiple turnovers..

I think the Lions just have too many weapons for the Washington defense that is ranked amongst the bottom in pass defense.. Add the fact that Washington's offense has stunk it up for most of the season.. Detroit has a physical defense up front that is fast and playing at home.. I expect them to really get after McNabb..

Key Negative Vibes:
Stafford could be a bit rusty but from what I am hearing is that Stafford has looked really good and ready.. Another negative is that Detroit's run D is nothing to get excited about but I think you will see that improve at home.

Detroit is a team that has been snake bitten several times this year. Especially in Chicago.. I look for them to get over the top on an anemic offensive team at home.

NY Jets -6

I see basketballnut has the Pack straight up and it makes me a bit skeptical about my pick because he is a good capper but I just do not see it..

The Packers run D is giving up 4.6 yards per carry and their defensive line is a mash unit.. The Jets offensive line should control the line of scrimmage giving the Jets anything they want offensively.. Plus they have the downfield weapons in Edwards, Holmes, and Keller..

Offensively Green Bay is one dimensional with no running game to speak of.. Rodgers is a good Qb but something seems a little bit off with him.. Their best receiver in Jennings will see Revis most of the time and Cromartie will be on Driver or vice versa.. This is a major mismatch favoring the JETS. In order for Green Bay to win they are going to have to hit the TE and slot receivers as I do think the Pack will try to spread the JETS out..

Negative Vibe:

The Packers will try to spread the Jets out and it would be interesting to see how they repsond..

Don't be fooled into thinking the Pack are back.. They have too many injuries and it took an Old hobbling QB 3 picks, some dumb coaching, and terrible calls to beat a reeling Viking team.. The Jets are in much better position to knock em off.

an anemic offensive team

i couldnt have said it better. when i think of washington, i think of a playoff caliber defense, though absolutely no offense. a "getting better" running game, scoring that lives or dies by one or two long bombs (that the receiver either catches or gets pass interfered with.

btw, the patriots can't play as bad as they did LW vs SD -on offense anyway

Minnesota VS New England..

No pick as of yet. Do not know the spread but early indidcation was the Pats by 5..

This game is too hard for me to cap plus I am not trying to give the homer angle but I figured the line to be about 7 and that raises a big red flag.. Vikes usually do not lose by more than 5 but why the hell would anyone take the VIkes??

They are a poorly coached team who chokes on the road.. Especially East Coast games and Especially nationally televised games which this game will be seen by most fo the country.. The bright spot is AP, he has been running hard with no fumbles.. Don't know what is going to happen at QB but I would like Jackson to play in this one. Don't ask me why but I think he can buy a little more time with legs to get receivers open and could cause a little bit of defensive panic if he starts running.. Jackson has an A arm with F acccuracy and F decsion making but we have not seen him much in a while so I say let's go for it.

Now as for the Patriots wouldn't ya think that Brady is going to have all kinds of time.. I mean the Vikes couldn't get after Rodgers and the Pack's line is mediocre at Best.. Jarrod Allen has been no where to be found.. Add the fact that the Patriots are a very smart team, well coached and maybe they are able to pick on Frank Walker or Kelly Cook.. At the same time I do not trust their offense either. Running game is suspect and the passing game is more dinnk and dunk and bogs down at times. But you know they are going to be working hard on that after a less than 200 yard passing performance last week..

Add this too.... I would think that Bellicheck wants to stick it to the Vikings mainly because of Randy Moss is ther now.. Just a thought..

My mind says Pats, Heart says Vikes, and the line says Vikes as well.
