Where it is real F ing COLD
Well I am at work this fine Christmas Day with a ton of down time. Have a sick/sleepy client.
Going to start with the Vikings and Bears then move to the Packers and Lions next week.

Vikings - Well the season couldn't have got much worse after the opening day win against St. Louis. Adrian Peterson suspended, right guard Brandon Fusco out for season, and Matt Cassle out for season putting the rookie in there early which the Vikings did not want to do. Many would look at this season and say that it was awful but I am the ultimate homer and I found a ton of positives. Hey if I told any of you that AP would miss the season and Teddy would have been rushed in there, you would have all ran to the ticket window laying your hard earned cash on the Viking Season total of under 6.

Positives - First and foremost, Teddy has handled it, He can make all the throws, seems to scan the field very well and doesn't panic. He eludes the rush and can get a few yards with his legs. He has had a couple rough starts as well, he missed wide open receivers against Green Bay and he gave away the Lions game with two errant passes that led to 10 easy points. The outlook for Teddy is bright, remember he has completed 70% of his passes the last 4 games despite running for his life.

Second Positive, the Vikings have developed a few young players on defense to build around. NT Sharif Floyd is a beast and is very disruptive, rookie OLB Anthony Barr was having a solid rookie season until injured and Safety Harrison Smith and CB Xavier Rhodes are two arising studs who should have been at least Pro Bowl Alternates.

Third Positive - The emergence of WR Charles Johnson, the man has been nothing short of Excellent this year, to think they picked him up off of Cleveland's practice squad after they stole him from the Packers who drafted him last season.

Negatives - First negative is the injury bug and suspension. I mean AP is a complete idiot and do not expect him back. Top that off with the injury bug TE Kyle Rudolph, RG Brandon Fusco, RT Phil Loadholt, NT Sharif Flloyd, OLB Anthony Barr have all missed extensive time, all are obove average players and really hurt this team when they needed a spark.

Second negative - Linebacker play. Awful I can't think of a worse group out there, Jasper Brinklely in the middle is really really bad and Chad Greenway should just call it quits, neither should come back this year. These guys struggle getting off blocks and are horrible covering tight ends and running backs.

Third negative - Regressed play from first round draft picks. LT Matt Khalil is a turn style and to think he had a stellar rookie year, last year was a down year and this year got worse, a top 5 pick. Then do you remember the draft day trade two years ago when the Vikings gave New England a 2, 3, 4, and 7 for a 1? Well Cordarrelle Patterson was the guy they got, his play has been so bad that they have benched him past 5 weeks or so, another talented player who just doesn't seem to get it.

Outlook - Vikings have a lot of young players to build around and hopefully Teddy continues to develop. The Adrian Peterson watch will start April 15 when he is reinstated. The Vikings must improve at the linebacker and offensive line if they want to be a contender. They will have the cap space so it will be an interesting off season.

Chicago Bears - Many had these guys picked to win the division but this team started off slow with loss at home to Buffalo cam back with two wins but have been almost abysmal since.

Positives - The bad season may end the Trestman experience, why he was hired as HC was questioned when it happened and even more so now. At least now they can move on and try to get an upgrade.

Negatives - The entire season is a negative and it does't appear that they have enough young talent to build around yet. They desperately need help on both sides of the baoll.

Outlook - Not really good will need some good drafts and other acquisitions.
