It has been more than 15 years since the Bengals held an opponent to zero points. They?ve come close already a couple times this season and now they could snap that streak here. Yes, the Texans are that inept. They have been outscored, 49-14, so far this season. David Carr is on pace to be sacked 104 times and Andre Johnson is averaging less than 20 receiving yards. Houston?s defense has been equally as bad, and probably will be missing one of their better defensive linemen, Gary Walker. The Texans have yet to record an interception or fumble recovery. The Bengals, meanwhile, already have 16 takeaways. Their ball-hawking secondary is vastly underrated. The Texans can?t contain Rudi Johnson on the ground, or defend against the Carson Palmer to Chad Johnson connection through the air. They have just one sack. On top of this, the Texans have had to deal with Hurricane Rita, which disrupted their preparation and concentration. The Bengals haven?t been 4-0 since their Super Bowl season 1988. So, look for the Bengals to be sky high since is their only home game during a four-week stretch. Marvin Lewis has Cincy headed in the right direction. The Bengals have won 10 of their last 14. They are far more talented than the Texans, and finally have the proper mental frame, confidence and coaching.
