my personal opinion is that the very nature of the offense creates more plays for the QB to get hit..and not only hit but hit violently hard..
The QB position in the NFL is by far the most important position and thus requires the most repeated reps at the position.
Asking the QB to take on the role of running option creates the problem of having the QB have to miss plays.Either because of needing a breather..less than serious injury..or the dreaded RG III "we bust your ass up until your stupid ass coach leaves you in the game with tears in your knee."
The league is going to be a passing league from here on out..The league sees all these lawsuits coming and everything will be done to make it the safest game possible..
Putting the QB's in postion to have their kneecaps separated from their legs by asking them to run an offense that calls for them to run the ball as many as 10 times a game is not conducive to a 10 year career for someone you are paying 15-20 million dollars a year..
The fad will disappear..when it is all said and done teams expecting to win games will need 35 points or more..
Hard to do when your QB is in the bottom of a pile with 1,000 pounds of muscle is trying to make sure he limps off the field to never return.
Mr. Flacco said lets throw..I want the millions and the city wants another Championship.
We know how that turned out.
Joe got the millions..
We can reach RG III at REHAB for his recovery from torn anterior cruciate and lateral collateral ligaments in his right knee ..
Whole lotta that be going on while these owners who haven't won a Championship since Moby Dick was a Minnow try out this next gimmick..
:sadwave:
