Going with home teams when they are posted as underdogs or pick'ems, vs division opponents is one of most logical & respected trends in the NFL.
The logic is obvious: familiar teams, rabid home crowds, underdog psyche edge etc...
The last 5 years ('96-'00) have proved profitable, especially when the home dog was also a same season revenger.

In '96 (HDD) went 21-13 for 62% ATS.
In '97 they went 21-18 ATS for 51%.
In '98 18-20 ATS for 47%. :nono:
In '99 overall record of 26-18 for 59%.
In '00 it tapered off to 18-22 for 45%.

When these teams were in same season revenge setups, they covered 10-5 (67%) in '96.
9-5 (64%) in '97.
10-9 (64%) in '98.
Just 9-10 (47%) in '99.
& 8-7 (53%) in '00.

2001 OVERALL RECORD:
22 Winners - 19 Losers (54%)

2001 REVENGE SETUPS:
6 Winners - 9 Losers (40%)

1996-2001 OVERALL RECORD:
126 Winners - 110 Losers (53%)

1996-2001 REVENGE SETUPS:
52 Winners - 45 Losers (54%)

Team trends worth noting as HDD the past 2 years are as follows:

Arizona 1-4
Atlanta 1-4-1
Buffalo 0-3
Carolina 4-0-1
Cincy 4-2
Dallas 4-1
Minny 2-0
New England 3-1
New Orleans 1-3

I will have to agree except for one huge difference now we have the realignment and 2 more divisions so I am not so sure how that will work out now. Just a thought to ponder I will wait to use this until I find some data
