Thanks guys....still can't find a line on that though.
Nolan......Just seems like everything is setting up perfect for LT to have a monster of game on the ground today.
You have the usual stat stuff which matches up well:
Seattle has allowed 9-100 yard rushers and ranks dead last in the league at stopping the run. They're allowing 156.9 rushing yards to opponents this season. They have improved a bit the last 4 weeks(they were surrendering 174.2 per game thru the first 11 weeks), but then again it seems like Tomlinson keeps getting stronger as well with his average rushing at 129.5 over the last 4 weeks which includes the monster game he had against a very good Denver defense.
You also have to figure he'll get his fair share of touches vs this Seattle team that has problems vs the run. The entire season this year, LT has touched the ball 45.1% of the season, so you gotta figure he'll have it plenty in this game as well.
Of course, I think there's still an outside chance the Chargers make it in and Schottenheimer has been quoted as saying "In critical situations, think of the players, not the plays." Of course with the possible playoff scenerio and the chance for the team to have a winning record, why wouldn't they give the ball to the guy that got them those wins...LT!
LT of course is only 52 yards behind Ricky Williams for the rushing title and from all the stuff I see he's well aware of this as his the rest of his teammates.
For those that don't know, Tomlinson is known to his teammates as a "team player" he's very well liked by all his teammates and from the stuff I've been reading they all want him to get this record. No Charger player ever lead the league in rushing and they recognize that they can play a part. Tim Dwight had this to say: " Getting LT the title would be special, we've put a lot of work in getting him down the field; that's something we take a lot of pride in. And I know that every time a run is called this week, I'm going to be doing as much as possible. I take a lot of pride in blocking down there with the safeties, but it's fun when you've got a guy like L.T. that you're blocking for. It would be different if you've got some jackass that you hate and he's just out there for himself, But L.T.'s such a team player."
Just seems like everything is right for a big day for him...we'll have to see.
Good luck.
