Let's get this thing goin' on...

Baltimore v. Carolina under 34 (1.95)

As most training camps in most years, defense is well ahead of the snappers...
...some very positive signs from the Panthers defensively by all accounts as they have been dominating camp so far...
...and they will need to with the 'talent' they have @ QB...
Moore, Clausen, Pike, Cantwell...straight up on the road against a traditionally tough D...will struggle to score here for sure...
...Ravens are a little light on defensively for a change I know, but their pre-season record record is tough to ignore...
...5-18 under last 5 years...3-19-1 under this number in reg.

Oakland +3.5 (1.91)

Raiders rock!...na, of course they don't, but getting more than a FG here is big.
Campbell, Frye, Gradkowski, Boller...huge (pre-season-wise) QB rotation for a start, then take into account teams who played in the HOF game...
...1-6-1 last 8 years in their second game...0-8 this no...
...take even more into account Dallas' injuries from last week (will need to sign a TE during the week just to play), and their continuing lack of red-zone success...
...more than a FG here is big. :0074

BOL for the season ahead one and all!! :toast:

Thanks guys. :toast:

Obviously BOL to you as well. :0074

Washington v. Buffalo under 33 (1.91)

Bills are in a pretty big hole offensively already...3 of their starting O-line out, plus 2 reserves...just a handful of healthy receivers...
...but the one place they do have depth is their secondary. 2nd last year for passing yards against, and looking every bit as strong again.
McNabb has been scratchy learning Shanahan's system...besides which the coach has already said that he won't be giving much away.
Not expecting much from either Grossman or Beck, so hopefully no late fireworks.

Pissed at myself for not taking the Falcons at home (esp. when the line dropped to -2.5)...sometimes talk of 'wanting to win' can over-ride the basics that hey, a team just plain sucks...
...not making that mistake again...

Minni +2.5 (2.00)

Rams are banged up already, been reading that they have injury concerns after a particularly tough pre-season...thin @ DB specifically...
...and I might be on my own here, but I've always rated Rosenfels...esp. against reserves! :142smilie
Numbers last pre-season were a combined 19/31, 232 yards, 1 pick...
...but previous to that @ Houston he was a very impressive [combined] 60/93 for 687 yards, 5 TD's, zero picks! :scared [pre-season only of course]
Jackson to get a few snaps early (maybe first 1/4) then Sage for the majority of the way...
...against a SL team coming off one of the lowest scoring years in history, now Feeley and a whole lot of Bradford...
Vikes are a far better outfit even in pre-season.

Detroit @ Pittsburgh under 33.5 (1.94)

Just a play on the Steelers really. An established team...no real positional controversies...esp. @ QB...everyone knows their place...
...as such have gone 2-15 under in their last 4 years pre-season games!
Detroit went 1-3 under last year under Schwartz who is trying to create a run first, defend second culture there.
Get this one in the books and get out.

Cleveland @ GB under 34.5 (1.91)

Delhomme to Wallace...both go ok, but neither are great downfield passers...
...Ratliff to mop up plain sucks...
...Harrell looks like getting plenty of time, and by all accounts has really struggled to throw anything downfield...
...and again, with no 1 and 2 QB's firmly set, there's no need for fireworks here.
Another interesting little point is that there is a tough battle for the Punting spot @ GB, so a few vanilla plays on 3rd downs for evaluation purposes... :0corn

SF @ Indi under 33.5 (1.90)

All about Indi. No 'recognised' back-up to Manning means he won't be seeing a lot of time...
...Painter will get majority of snaps, Brandstander, Hiller...
...add to that O-line injuries...Indi are even less interested than usual.
SF finished on an 0-6 under run last year...were 1-3 under in pre-season (all under 33)...
...again, I think this will be a case of get in and out, no injuries...

Happy so far I kept my faith in the Sage-star, purple! :0074 :mj07:

(Obviously not so happy after they went backwards nearly half the field then gave up the return TD... :cursin: )

Another score before he gets pulled will be nice... :0corn
