I don't think these plays are going to be very popular, but here they are.
1) Montreal +.5 (+160) 1*
Montreal is one of the better teams in the east in my opinion. Sure they have looked awful in their last two, but it's early and this is a good team. Detroit is getting their rings from last year tonight, some of their minds might not be 100% focused on the game. I think the Habs give their best effort of the year tonight.
2) Edmonton/SJ under 5 (+120) 1*
Really think there is an overreaction to the Sharks poor defense early on. Edmonton has always been one of my favorite under teams and I look for San Jose to shore up their defensive problems tonight. Kiprusoff is better than he has looked and Salo is solid in net.
3) Washington ML (-110) 1*
Playing the better team to get the win. Nothing fancy about this one, just think Washington is improved this year and Carolina won't be much of a factor.
4) Side/Total parlay: LA Kings +.5 (-130) and under 5(-105)
1* pays 2.45
Colorado isn't scoring, and we've seen this type of thing from them in the past. When their top two lines aren't getting it done offensively, they don't win. So, I like my chances with LA tonight. Watch Colorado score 5 now that I said all this.
