You can bet moneyline and/or puckline at only four sportsbooks in LV: Hilton, The Palms, Aladdin, and Golden Nugget.

Golden Nugget and Hilton offer dime lines on moneyline bets only. 20 cent lines on sides and puckline.

The Palms will let you mix and match ML and PL in parlay (don't know about the others) including the Grand Salami! (if parlay has no other totals in it).

Only other casino to offer the Grand Salami is Golden Nugget. Golden Nugget is the best place to bet NHL in LV. See below

By "Hilton" I mean the Las Vegas Hilton few blocks off strip at Sahara and Paradise road, not the Flamingo Hilton on the Strip.

The Aladdin is converting over to Planet Hollywood Casino, to be completed in 2007 (they hope).

Venetian and Harrah's/Caesars---these have 30 cent lines. The rest offer 20 cent lines

Caesars inclues Harrah's, Flamingo, Paris, Bally's, Imperial Palace and the Rio. And soon the Barbary Coast.

Here's a good website that details the complex LV ownership.

Boyd Casinos----Barbary Coast on strip (for now), Fremont and California Casinos downtown, Gold Coast (by Rio and Palms), The Orleans down road, Sam's Town out Boulder Highway, and Suncoast in northen suburbs) offer excellent 20 cent lines, and overnight odds and betting (including parlays) starting about 230 in afternoon (at Gold Coast, anyway). This book will also track your sportsbets to earn points for comps (about $1 worth of casino/restaurant credit for every couple of $500 or so risked), plus good free music and other comps--these are the casino I hang at in day. I believe Station Casinos do also track bets if you want, and offer phone and closed internet-loop betting for LV residents

another place offers phone betting I can't remember---the Cannery maybe? Leroy's used to also.

The Cannery Casino in North Las Vegas just opened a plush new sportsbook and will track your bets too, offering the best comps in their players club---$300 wagered in sports=$1 comp value.

You can get the N. NV lines (here it's the Cal Neva line) at Tuscany Casino (1 mile off strip east on Flamingo road), Four Queens on Fremont St downtown, and Casino Valle Verde in Henderson. This line almost always has some differences from LV lines, especially in totals.

Books that see little puck action, like Hard Rock, are great for parlays (usually chalk) of lines that move a lot in day elsewhere, as these places get so little action line hardly moves at all. Exception are LA teams at HR.

The rest (all independent books) that deal 20 cent lines include New Frontier, Station Casinos, the Hard Rock, Terrible's, Stratosphere (includes AZ Charlies), the Plaza, Wynn, and El Cortez.

In North Las Vegas (a separate city that rivals Reno for class) the rest are the Cannery, Poker Palace, and Jerry's Nugget. The nice Rampart Casino, in Summerlin by Suncoast, has very inviting sportsbook--small, English country house style den and wood paneled. Haven't been to Lake Las Vegas casino.

The moneylines at Jerry's Nugget breaks into 1.5 pucklines at -200 and above. Caesar's, Wynn and MGM Mirage did this last year starting at -300 line. Not sure if they do this year.

These casinos have Leroy's sportsbooks with 20 cent line: The Sahara, The Riviera, Tropicana, Fitzpatrick's, Ellis Island, Golden Gate--plus Gold Rush and Nevada Palace 20 miles south of LV if driving in from LA and gotta stop. You can cash your Leroy's ticket at any location. There are dozen or so more locations thru out LV...

The Leroy's at Silverton Casino (several miles south of strip) doesn't have NHL or NBA lines due to partial ownership of some LA teams and facilities.

Whiskey Pete's complex at NV/CA border on I-15 is owned by MGM-Mirage, which have 20 cent line. MGM-Mirage includes Bellagio, NY-NY, Treasure Island, Circus Circus, Excalibur, Luxor, Mandalay Bay, and Monte Carlo,

The Palms did promise to aggresively
go for the puck bettor, and they told me they'd offer puck props on Saturdays. Haven't seen it tho.

any corrections, feel free to post them!

Golden Nugget---Best NHL betting in Vegas!

Golden Nugget---Best NHL betting in Vegas!

the GN has dime lines like the LV Hilton, along with offering puckline and totals bets too (last two at 20 cent lines).

But GN also offers the Grand Salami ---the only other book in LV that offers this is The Palms.

GN is also the best place to shop lines. The Four Queens is a few minute stroll next door and deals the Cal Neva line from North Nevada. This line always has some differences from LV lines, esp in totals.

Next to Four Queens is Fitzgerald's, which offer Leroy's lines, and across the street from these two is the Fremont Casino, which has the Gold Coast line. And several minute walk down either end of Fremont street will get you the El Cortez line or Plaza line.

Ample parking, great deals on food, and easy access downtown too!

Just have to put up the that downtown atmosphere...

Nice write up Terry.
I just moved 2 months ago from Vegas back here to California. Your article is dead on. Pucks are tough to play in Vegas, which is why I kept my online accounts even while living there. I worked at the Stratosphere and the AZ Charlie's there in town and somedays it was hit and miss on playing pucks. They would get bumped by smaller places like Charlie's for bigger events (horses, playoffs, etc.)

Some of those places listed (old downtown area) you're taking your life in your hands at night trying to park. I thought here in LA was tough. Nothing compared to the backstreets around there. :nono:

Anyway, nice article Terry. Thanks for the tips.
