Leafs is valued by the bookies to have under 40% chance to night, and I cant say I agree with that.

Devils have started the season on the road by beating Canes and loosing to the Stars. Against Stars they only got of 20 shots, while they got 31 against. As expected Brodeur hos holding the fort and has a SV% of 95% so far. In special teams Devils have only scored on 2 of 13 PP so far, while being perfect on the PK (10 for 10).

Leafs had some real trouble scoring against Panthers last game but won it in the end in SO. They have shot 40 shots pr game in average the first 4 games, and have 30 shots against. In special teams they have scored on 13% of PP and stopped 85% in PK. Raycroft has been superb so far, stopping over 95% of the shots and only letting in 1.75 goals pr game. Leafs biggest problem at the moment is a lot of injuries on the blue line. Koubina is out, Bell and Kronwall is doubtful and Woznievski listed as maybe.

Last season Leafs beet Devils in all 4 games, all in regulation time. 4-3 and 6-3 in NJ, 4-2
and 2-1 at home.

Leafs are probably made +156 dogs because of the injuries they have, but they have played well so far this season and have not allowed many goals. Devils had problems both shooting and scoring against Stars, while everybody beats Canes at the moment. In my opinion Leafs are made to big dogs here, and my money will be on them.

Bet: Leafs ML (OT inc) +156 2 units at Pinnacle

Feel free to comment, and good luck tonight.

Second play of the day is as obvious as anything. I have to play the over in Preds/Hawks. Both teams with alot of goals in both matches this year (first match was Preds/Hawks in Chicago).

Preds started by letting in 8 goals and scoring 6, in the second game against Wild they lost 6-5. Vokoun have only stopped 80% of the shots so far, the team have 18% in PP and have only stopped 30%(!) in PK.

Hawks won the first game 8-6 as I said, while they lost 5-4 to Blue Jackets in their second game. Khabibulin have only stopped 83% of shots, while Hawks have scored on a whooping 44% in PP. In PK they have stopped 76%.

Last season these two teams only played 2 games under the total, 2 where on the total while 4 games went over.

Of course this game might end up with a stupid score as 1-0, just to prove that we all are idiots. But when the two teams that score the most and let in the most goals meet, I cant lay of the over when I am offered -120 and 6 as a total (actually I got some at +105 with 6 as a total, reg time only with a European bookie, Bwin.com for those interested).

Bet: Preds/Hawks Over 6 -120 1 unit at Pinnacle

Thanks CP, good luck to you to.

My third play of the night is on the Blues in regular time.

Blues have started off with 3 straight losses. 5-4 to Sharks after SO in the first game, 4-1 to Kings and 2-0 to Ducks in the last game. In all games Blues have shot a lot, and have averaged 35 shots pr game. Because of the low scoring they have juggled their lines before tonight's game. They have been quite generous to opponents and allowing 33 shots in average pr game. In special team they have struggled scoring with only 6% in PP and let in a lot in PK by only stopping 79%. In goal tonight I will be surprised if not Curtis Sanford gets the start. He was good against Ducks and stopped 32 of 34 shots. Manny Legace did not perform well in the first two games, so I don't believe he will get the start here.

Bruins is playing back to back, I played against them last night to with success. So far they have let in a lot of goals, while not scoring to much them self. The last two games they have struggled getting of shots (23 and 25), while they have allowed 30 shots in each game. In PP they have scored in 10% while stopping only 68% of PK so far. In goal I believe Tim Thomas will get the start. Toivonen got the start last night, and he wasn't to good (should have stopped a few of the goals). Thomas let in 7 goals in 34 shots in his first game of the season, and did not look good.

This is the Blues home opener and after 3 straight losses it is really important that they get a win. They have not been that bad even with 3 losses, they played even with both Sharks and Ducks, and even had more shots than Kings in that game. Bruins playing back to back is probably one of the better teams Blues could meet to get their first win. Bruins have not looked to good, loosing 8-3 to Florida and certainly not yesterday when they lost 4-1 to Atlanta.

Bet: Blues -0.5 (reg time) +143 1 unit at Pinnacle
