Does anyone no the average percentage of nhl games that end in ties?

I would be lower than that number, more around 12% to 15%

frog, i don't know look at yesterday for instance 3 out of the 6 games played ended in ties

but then maybe your right frog, i checked into the last 5 day's only 4 ties of the 27 games

In the first half of the season - of the 793 games played
88 ended in a tie or 11.09%
Since the all star break
337 games played with 88 ties or 12.46.
Total season so far 130 ties of 1130 games for a 11.5%
The average for the past 3 years has been almost exactly on 12 %.

thanks guys - i'm using some 40cent nhl moneyline teams as hedges with nba parlays and the tie factor really helps with the return rate.

For Ontario Pro-Line purposes, 1 in 6 games ends in a tie after 60 minutes or about 16%. The overall tie number is 12% due to O/T goals.

Since the new OT rule took place in 1999-2000 (4 vs 4, still 1 pt in a loss):

2276 regular season games
289 draw

Draw%: 12.7%

East vs East: 11.4%
West vs West: 13.6%
Inter-Conference: 13.3%

Also, check out the total lines... usually the lower the total, the higher the chances for a draw (all about standard deviation..)
