I think they are making too much of that. If you watch the replay, the kicker saw the timeout was called before he kicked the ball, so he did a half-ass swipe at the ball. He knew the play was dead, so he wasn't really trying to kick it. But of course the announcers build it up like AZ screwed themselves.

And IMO, if they lose the game it will be because they decided to go into prevent at the end of the game instead of just playing D. It's the Bears game all over again. How many games do teams have to lose before they stop playing prevent?
