First there was "You can't spell Citrus without UT," now he says and does what just about everyone else is thinking...

"Steve Spurrier stirred things up by voting his South Carolina team ahead of a Clemson team that beat the Gamecocks at the end of the season. But the most startling part of his poll was selecting Notre Dame No. 14. The Irish finished sixth and are playing in the Fiesta Bowl.

"They hadn't really beaten anybody," Spurrier told The Sun on Tuesday. "They didn't hardly beat anyone with a winning record.

"Personally, I think it's a crying shame why they allow them to go 9-2 and play for the big money. I'll always nudge them down a little in my poll. I just don't think it's fair but college football isn't fair. Why do we have to treat those guys differently?"

2 loss Miami at least won at Va Tech. 2 loss LSU has better wins. Auburn beat Georgia, on the road, and Bama. Ohio State beat Michigan, the only ranked team Notre Dame beat. Oregon doesnt have a win that matters, but the others all have wins as good if not much better than Notre Dame.

i'd say that ohio state and miami are the only two teams that could shut down usc and/or texas and still have enough offensive weapons to win. though thats for another debate.

not much diffence besides that time when Miami almost blanked Va tech...but besides that nothing at all....Miami is the best out of all those teams....Miami is at the beginning of that sentence and the rest are in the middle or towards the end...

VT and Miami :scared

Who cares... Spurrier is just jealous Weis is a better offensive mind than he is... When we beat OSU they all will say OSU was overrated. Comes with the territory. Just like we where going to start the season 0-6/1-5. LOL

Ohio St. hasn't beaten anybody either... And they have two losses. BCS games are all about the money and that is why ND is in one of them, not to mention they're a great team as well. Sorry ND matters...! Auburn, LSU, Oregon doesn't...

Weis better than Spurrier? :mj07: That's a good one. I'll remember that one for the company Christmas party, should get plenty of laughs!

Spurrier didn't do or say anything that everyone outside of South Bend isn't thinking or saying. Sorry if he hurt your feelings.

Ignorance is Bliss

Weis = 3 Super bowl rings

Spurrier = NFL flop

Weis is considered by most experts to have the best offensive mind of any coach in the NFL or college.

Spurrier offensive plan in the NFL was a complete joke. There is no denying his success in college so we will have to wait to see who will be the better coach in the end.

Weis first year 9-2 BCS bowl and currently has the second ranked recruiting class on rivals with 23 commitments. He also took an inept offensive team ranked near last to a rating in the top 3.

But trying to explain this to a redneck such as yourself is pointless. GL

Auburn football = irrelevant

Spurrier won at Duke for Heaven's sake.

Charlie Weis was coordinator in the NFL, not a head coach. Apples and Oranges.

Weis has one good year where he only beats one ranked opponent, and you're trying to put him in front of a legend?

When you are reduced to calling me names, it means you are getting desperate.

Keep trying to thrash your way to an argument, but I assure you that only Notre Dame fans consider Weis a better coach than Spurrier.

Like I said, boy that Spurrier was one hell of a coach in the NFL. :mj07: The only people who don't think Weis is legit are the people in the South who are blinded by the SEC. But then again there isn't much to do in Alabama. Watch us on Jan. 3rd then you will see a great coach.

I will watch your meaningless bowl and see another SEC team get outcoached and beat by a Big 10 team. GL

Wies has had a good year but your aurgument that he is a better coach than steve spurrier in college is a joke. You are blinded by the gold helmets my friend as is most conceited irish fans.
Spurriers record in college speaks for itself. When Wies accompishes the above than you have aurgument. But not now.
