The NIT selection show airs at 9 p.m. ET Sunday, picking up what the NCAA's field of 68 left behind.
The NCAA Tournament's biggest snubs, mid-major teams lacking that one quality win and other college basketball oddities will have their names called off for selection in the 2013 NIT on Sunday.
The NIT will choose 32 teams for this year's field, with the only automatic bids going to regular-season conference champions who lost in their conference's tournament and did not qualify at large for the NCAA tournament. The first three rounds of the tournament, as always, will be played on campus sites of the higher seed in each game, and the final two rounds move to Madison Square Garden.
Last year's NIT champion was the Stanford Cardinal, who beat the Minnesota Golden Gophers in the final, 75-51. If you're looking for a head start on this year's field?and who isn't??The Bracket Project hosts its NIT bracket projections there.
