Jayson Werth +1200
Few people outside of Philadelphia realize what a player the Phillies have in Werth. Virtually ignored in a lineup surrounded by names such as Chase Utley, Ryan Howard, Jimmy Rollins, Pat Burrell and Shane Victorino, Werth is the engine that makes the Phillies go. An everyday player for just over a year in this lineup (August 2008), Werth has quickly proved he belongs there. He followed up on last year's strong WS performance (.444/.583/.778, all team highs as well as 6 walks, 3 SB and 3 RBI) with another strong performance in the NLDS. In addition to the series-winning hit, Jayson had 2 HRs and batted .357 while scoring a run in every game.
Working against him is the fact that he is on the porch while the rest of the big dogs in Philly get thrown all the bones in the form of media attention. He also has a tendency to disappear completely for one game .The MILFs in Philly absolutely love this guy and with good reason, he is a stud on the field. Go Phils and go Werth!!!
