Shrimp pretty much summed up my thoughts on this, but I'll offer some addtional details if anyone is interested:
First, if you are into dice systems -- I must ask what your goal is? Is your goal to make money playing craps? If so, you can forget about using ANY kind of betting system. It's mathematically impossible to beat the game. The sooner you accept this fact, the less aggrevation you will suffer.
Second, if you are interested in playing craps to acquire comp priviledges (RFB) then there are viable gambling systems you can use which will minimize your risk and maximize your action to take advantage of the comp systems to the fullest extent possible. Paroli systems and other mini-progressives work well if you are interested merely in spending time at the tables to earn comps. Frankly, I do not advocate this -- but if you are inclined to gamble and like the adrenaline rush of craps, then betting systems can serve that purpose.
I am embarassed to publicly admit this, but I actually did purchase a craps system through the mail back about 12 years ago. It was called the 6 to 1 method. The author sent me a big fat notebook and an audio tape. It was piss in your pants funny to listen to. I kept it as a novelty item. I also purchased a horse racing system through the mail from a guy in Brooklyn (he pomised me I could RETIRE in two years after using the system). I will do a write up on these screwjobs sometime in the future. They are a riot.
Please read carefully.
ANYONE who sells you a gambling system of ANY kind through the mail or over the Internet is a CROOK.

What's astonishing is that some people think that the MORE money they spend, the better the system must be. Read the memoirs and news articles of ex-con men and assorted cheats who totally screwed people out of their money. Since gambling is largely unregulated (handicapping services, periodicals and so forth can say whatever they want) any clown with a PO Box and a set of steel balls can promise anything and have a bunch of gullible suckers ready to send in cash. I've even seen some charleton promise to track your horiscope vis-a-vis gambling, for a fee. Astonishing.
I appreciate you asking questions first before sending in good hard-earned money. I wish I had been so wise -- but I got stiffed not once but TWICE! In fact, I got screwed in the ass FOUR times by the con men if you count the two times I purchased handicapping service picks (this is back in the 80s). So, I guess I'm the idiot here in the conversation.
One other point: Be careful about gambling in B/M casinos down in the Carribbean. I am not saying they are all dishonest, but I DO KNOW FOR A FACT that some of the smaller casinos down there hire card cheats (mechanics). it would not surprise me to know they also load and switch dice. You are probably safe in big corporate-run places like Atlantis in the Bahamas, but in the smaller casinos you are flat out asking to get taken for a ride. Believe me, you would not be able to detect the cheating that goes on no matter how much experience you have. In some places, if you start winning too much, the cooler comes in and hits you with a sledgehammer. I assure you this is true and a VERY COMMON practice because a very good friend of mine runs a casino down there and he flat out tells me they have mechanics on hand ready to screw people that start winning. You can be sure the same thing is happening in the dice pit.
