The only reason I can think of....and it's pretty weak, but I'm searching...

I don't know what the conversion rate is for 2pt converts, but I'm going to assume it's somewhat close to 50%. Seems to me more are made than missed, but I'm not sure. So.......

If you are down 3 or more TD's and you go for 2 the first time you score, you can now win the game outright with 7-point TD's the rest of the way. If you miss it on the first TD you will go for it again on the next one. There's probably a pretty good chance you make that one (50% conversion rate?), and now you're no further behind than you were before the 1st TD and can still end up tied.

I guess that's what they were thinking. But then again maybe they just wanted practice. ;)

Ya but Randy Moss knew he didn't have anything tonight, and he was dialing in frantically on his laptop at halftime to bet the Under. :) Ooops, dropped it again. Ooops, darn it, again....
