Upstairs watching sports on the big TV.
Sorry for rant....Listening to Troy Aikman ramble the obvious, has sent me over the edge.....thank God for Mute button...

Probably Several Hundred MILLION people watching this game worldwide.....slow mo replay Several Hundred MILLION people see
a BAD obvious call blown, game is for the NFC championship and, and and "It is not refuckingviewable"

JUST what is the rational for this rule? EVERYTHING should be reviewable if it is in the play of the game....period, even in the hallowed 2 minute (run as many commercials as we can) time of warning....

NFL has become one joke of a sport and an insult to fans that can think for themselves....

I'm in agreement with you. Some of the rules are laughable. I really don't enjoy watching the NFL at all. But then again I'm in the Browns market where the only intrigue to the game is how we will lose this one.

I agree, luckily the blown call or non reviewable play had no significance on the game

How does a fumble recovery by Bowman not change the significance of the game? Momentum swing here or there, a botched fumble goes the other way for six, lots of scenarios could have made that game a 3 pt outcome instead of a 6 point outcome or even a shot for SF to get down deeper into the Red Zone before Kaep got tunnel vision and zoned on Crab instead of looking for Davis or the other TE over the middle around the 10 yd line wide fokken open!! Happy the Seachickens got to the Super Bowl cuz I'm a big Russell Wilson fan, but come on, if the ball comes out and the whistle ain't blown the ball dead, it's REVIEWABLE!! More rule changes to reviewable plays coming in the off-season I'm sure!!

Did you watch the same game as me? The next pay they went for it on 4th down and Lynch fumbled giving the Niners the ball at around the 10 yd line  How did it affect the game?

Yes watched the same game BGC, however, how much time was lost with the next couple of plays and the fumble? There were a few calls that the refs silenced the whistles on, ie, non-interference calls and holds by both offensive lines. Just saying the time off the clock mattered a bit. But who knows, Seattle still won!!

First off, it wasn't "next couple plays" - it was the very next play, so we're talking 35 seconds max - and I don't believe Seattle even used all of the play clock. Second, that 30 seconds did not matter at all. San Fran still had 2 timeouts when they threw the pick at the end. They were intentionally taking their time on that last drive because if they scored they wanted to leave Seattle with absolutely nothing. Thirdly, if the fumble had been correctly allowed, the 49ers get the ball on their own 1. Instead, in exchange for the lost 30ish seconds they got the ball at around the 15 - so if anything there is a strong argument that the blown call actually ended up helping the 49ers.

Of course, that doesn't change the fact that it was an absolutely terrible call and calling it "unreviewable" just made it even more suspect. Didn't have any money on the game (though I do have a Seattle futures bet) and not a fan of either team but I was really happy to see Lynch fumble on the next play just for the sake of the integrity of the game.

NFL is definitely being ruined by this over-officiating and bizarre Orwellian technicalities that determine what can and cannot be reviewed. I believe penalties are part of the game to discourage obviously dirty play - they shouldn't be used to try and change the way the game is played, but that's what they are trying to do. We are all witnessing a clinic in how to kill off the golden goose.

actually, I agree totally with the bad fumble call, but the play that absolutely changed the game and killed all momentum for SF was the no call on the obvious roughing the kicker call... by rule if u hit the plant leg it is roughing... it was called running into... that right there was the game. sure san fran had its shot and kaep blew it, but I think things may have been much different right there...

Preaching to the choir. It is more important to get a call correct than a time concern. The refs suck at game speed judgement calls so get it right with video. Why not copy what the NHL does, one central command post makes all calls on review. One phone call, 30 seconds done. No more under the hood bullshit.
