vs. Detroit)?are 8-9 in season openers dating to 2000.
They are 1-2 vs. Tampa Bay on Opening Day all-time.

Have lost their last four season openers that have taken
place on the road (dating to 2009), are 3-9 in such games
since 1997.

Tanaka seeks his first Opening Day win after taking a no-decision
on 4/5/16 vs. Houston and a loss on 4/6/15 vs. Toronto.

Besides their lineup sucks this is not the GREAT YANKEES. Chris carter ? Matt Holliday ?

Why do you think something that happened as long ago as 8 years matters in today's game? I'm genuinely curious.

I do agree that when the majority are on one side it's often wise to take the other (NCAA basketball last night is a great example of this), but other than that why would results from a roster different than today's matter, at all?
