I know there are a few people on the site now that think the a's are not that good of a team based off of last nights performance. After watching most of the game and reading the box score the game was much closer than the score indicated. Zito was perfect through the 1st 8 batters, gives up a HR and then has a inning and a half melt down...after the a's pulled zito the tigers scored zero runs and managed only 4 hits off of the a's bullpen. Now the a's offense did look terrible but they did get on bases and had a few chances to drive in a few runs...the bottom of the 4th and 5th the a's had runners on 1st and 2nd with no outs and yet could not manager to get a needed hit to drive in a runs..i am impressed on how the a's pitched yesterday bedsides zito's inning and a half meltd down....i do see the a's coming out tonight and keeping the game much closer than last night

Being perfect the 1st 8 batters is noting to take comfort in, the second time around the order is when the game starts. Det has to much pitching and the A's don't have the bats. Last night the A's saw the weakest link in the Tigers rotation. I think Det wins this and the WS.

The loss of Ellis is big and already showed up last night. The A's have bench players as their middle infielders and that is going to be a problem in this series.

The only way the A's have a chance is to do things that they have not all yr, stay out of the Dp , hit and run and stolen bases. The Tigers are riding the wave, they get to the 6th with their starters, it's over. I know its only one game but, it's over.

Zito had nothing from the start of the game. He was behind every hitter (despite what the IDIOTS doing the television call were saying), even most of the 1st eight he luckily retired. Detroit actually looked a bit tight to me and missed a lot of opportunities to shell the A's and made some mistakes in the field and on the bases they don't normally make. I think Oakland beat a very weak and tired Minny team and is going to get their asses handed to them in this series to a much more talented team that came off a series against a much better opponent. The A's aren't going to magically find enough offense to beat Detroit's bats and overall pitching in this series.

Lou Pinella should join Mike Ditka in retirement. Vyrus would have better in-game commentary than those two dopes. Any team that hires Pinella and pays the nut he's going to expect would be complete idiots. Wait a minute, he would look good on the North Side:142smilie
